Not if you account for the degree of difficulty. He takes tough and long 3's so that the defense has to respect them. It opens the high pick-and-roll game. Because he can use that threat to get the D scrambling behind the 3 point line, other guys on his team get easy looks. The threat of Doncic's 3 has opened up like 100 easy dunks for Dwight Powell.


Also, Doncic isn't unathletic for his size. Not many guys his size have his body control and change of pace. Balance is part of being an athlete.

There are so many "athletes" in today's league that can hardly handle the ball. JaVale McGee is a "great athlete", but I've seen him full on wipe out many times when he tries to handle to ball on the break...but the "unathletic" Jokic does it with ease.

Vertical leap is only one facet of basketball athleticism, and it's overrated.

I do like Luka but theres no chance he ends up as goat. Ball dominant players and systems just dont win championships. Bron is better than luka will ever be and even he could only get one that way.

Plus luka has to deal with greek for the next decade. Greek has a similar impact offensively and a much bigger impact defensively. He also plays more within a a real system that focuses on more ball movement. Theres zero chance luka ends up being better than greek let alone atg's like mj and bron.

There is different types of athleticism. They fetishized American version, IE black athletes is running fast and jumping high. There’s hand speed and lateral / foot movement quickness. Luka is definitely athletic but not in the black obsessed culture take on athleticism. So even though he’s a plumber, and dog walks brothers … while being considerably less athletic than contemporaries in the traditional sense
