Notice that star, high in twilight skies after sunset? It's planet Venus. Meanwhile, the newly-birthed thin crescent Moon arrives — the start of Ramadan on the Islamic calendar. For the next few days, the Moon will sashay past Venus. The pair, an enduring symbol of the religion.

Ramadan Mubarak brother! How is it going for you so far? Are you on lockdown in your area? We kind of are, I can't do my normal things that I do every year to maintain health. But I do what I can. It hasn't made it easier on me :lol

Great thread bro. Hope the rest of my brothers and maybe sisters on here are being safe and taking care of themselves.

Brother I used to work out to pass time but this year i've been sitting around the house doing nothing really. Its kind of hard because i'm trying to kick a bad smoking habit. Laying around and watching tv doesn't help. I miss having iftar with the whole family.

Stay safe:pimp:

I just bought dominos, and gonna make that last at least 3 days :lol

I too miss iftar with the fam, hell even with friends. I miss interaction, I miss my park, I miss home-cooked meals. But things could always be worse, so I am thankful.

Im not a pracricing sunni, but have a sunni grandparent.
Main girl is Shia, not practicing either.
We still do wet fast sometimes during Ramadan, but not every day.
And eat dates around the time of Iftar just off GP.

Peace & blessings to everyone who is dry fasting !!!!
Shits hard af, especially the water.
Calories no problem, but dry fast is haaaaaaaard.

Yeah, man they say an idle mind is the devil's playground. And as you guys already know your worst enemy is your "nafs" (evil-commanding soul/carnal self) and Shaytan. For me, it's like my desires are a wild horse that just want to run all over the place but I got to reign them in to adhere to the commands of The Almighty.

What helped me kick some bad habits was to make as much dhikr as possible. It'll make you spiritually stronger bi'idhnillah.

Here's a nice resource, bro. https://islamqa.info/en/answers/4156/what-can-you-do-in-one-minute

Eid Mubarak fam! Hope you and yours have a joyous few days and we all improve even if it's a lil bit from how we handled ourselves this month.

Remember that life is all about striving for the best we can be.
