When i was 26 or so I went camping with my brother and my friends out to Azusa national forest in california. I lived in Orange County and so to avoid the traffic we left at 6AM on a Saturday and got setup and took a nap around 8AM, but before so, I paid for two nights of camping through a envelope and form for that Saturday through to Monday. Well 15min into our sleep we were awoken by US Forest services and were told that we did not pay for the prior day (Friday) to the current (Saturday) stay. I told them that we had gotten there early morning to avoid traffic and pick out a good spot. I argued and they eventually asked who owned the vehicle we had driven in. Well my friends tacoma was sitting in the designated parking spot and I said I didn't know who owned it. The Forest service lady looks over at my friend and asks the same question and he states it's his vehicle. Next thing I know I get two tickets, one for not paying and two for lying to a LEO.

I tried to explain to her that If she had asked who drove the vehicle, i would have gladly answered my friend - but how was it that not knowing who OWNS the vehicle when asked is breaking the law? His parents could have owned it, Toyota Financial could own it, how am I suppose to know and why is that burden on me? IS everyone expected to know who owns the vehicle they ride in?

The whole situation left a sour taste the whole weekend and at the time I was attending grad school in a different state so there was no chance I could fight it.

Just shows how corrupt some LEO are.

I'm thinking 30 days paid leave until further investigation (by his own department) find him not guilty

Bald latino dude is going to cash in though on a handsome 6-7 figure civil suit no doubt though.

South Florida cops are pretty terrible. I was ****ed with many times, I gave up expecting anything other than neanderthal behavior. Get good lawyers.

So far in my time in NY, NYC cops seem ok. Def smarter and better trained than in S. Florida (seemingly). id still keep my mouth shut and get a good lawyer. communicating with 5-0 negatively is unnecessary if there is an issue

S.Florida cops were easily triggered. maybe it was the high heat. NYC peeps seem calmer.

Couple of things...

It's pretty clear that cop needs to be fired. Also, the 'suspect' then starts resisting after the beating ensues, which is also wrong, but not nearly as wrong as the beating.

I don't know what the 'suspect' said to rile the cop up so much, but that's just ridiculous. Prior to that, he had his hands behind his back... I completely understand that cops are humans and I often times back them in these cases where people are irrationally judging the cop, but in this case... the guy had his hands behind his back and apparently said something the cop didn't like so the cop flew off the handle. He needs to be fired. No other way to spin it.

Everyone's retarded, as per usual, including OP. Which is often the case in these situations.

Depends how embedded he was in the department

This is LA and after 92 riots a lot has changed, NAACP gets on that ass quick and they have lobby power now. Brown, Yellow, Black - they just wanna stick it to the white man

If he's OG and a vet, he'll prly get pardoned. If he's a young buck good chance they'll cut him and roll in the next recruit

I'd also like to add that the cop should be jailed. And also... the cop is lucky the guy didn't turn on him because if he had, it's clear the cop would have been the one taking the beating.

After the 92 riots, Asians wanted to stick it to the blacks, not the whites.

LAPD officer in violent Boyle Heights beating video was involved in 3 prior shootings (https://ktla.com/news/local-news/lapd-officer-in-violent-boyle-heights-beating-video-was-involved-in-3-prior-shootings/)

Frank Hernandez, who has been with the LAPD for more than 20 years, was identified as the man under investigation for his actions during an April 27 arrest of a homeless man in Boyle Heights.

The Los Angeles police officer caught on video repeatedly punching a man during an arrest last week has been involved in three on-duty shootings during his career, including one that sparked violent protests in Westlake ten years ago.

The homeless guy is gonna get a nice settlement.

Watching the video again, the cop clearly doesn't know how to throw a punch... and they look like they're in slow motion.

Also, it's hilariously pathetic how he takes his glasses off and throws them to the ground and screams "come on!" when the guy isn't even facing him, still... pathetic. LOL.

So the cops were 100% to confront him and 100% to continue to try to run him off and as I kinda figured, he was running his mouth.

Although he clearly provoked them, that still does NOT justify the punching and out of control actions by the male cop. The cop should still be fired at a bare minimum.
