Always thought the 'rust' argument was mythology. Mike did just come off from playing baseball, but look @ the moves here...

5:10 (morphed into his 1988 clone) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oj1tVzDkFDo#t=5m10s)

To me, Jordan looked more athletic in 1995 than in 1997 and 1998. And certain periods from 1996.

If Chicago had Rodman here, not sure the Magic still win either.

Its a bullshit excuse

He had 20 regular season games and hundreds of practices under his belt. (And he never completely stopped playing basketball while stinking it up in baseball)

Its the biggest myth ever. Jordan just choked miserably and did so the very next year as well in the finals but got saved by Rodman and his stacked team

Look at the footage. Does he look "rusty" to you? :lol His playoff stats in 95' were better than his playoff stats in any of the second three-peat runs.

exactly.

he played better than in the following 3 years where he won the title, proving that ringz are a matter of circumstances, as he lost to the best opponent they faced during their run.

right but penny shaq and nick Anderson all said mj was rusty. Penny went as far to say he could tell he wasn't the same but that with more reps he would be.

Think ill take the word of some pros who played agsinst mj over some troll whos a obvious hater

The whole "MJ was rusty" narrative is overblown IMO. First of all we can see that he put up better numbers in 1995 than any of his second threepeat runs. Secondly he scored 55 points at the Garden a few games after coming back during the regular season. Lastly even if we accept that MJ was rusty he decided to leave the game of basketball. We can't make excuses for him and say "if he was in shape...". He wasn't by his own decision. End of story. I think Chicago wasn't good enough to win the title in 1995. That's usually why teams win or don't win titles anyways.

Maybe those careless turnovers in the clutch contributed in the "rusty" narrative?
