They have been preparing for a war with the US since early 80s. They have built up their military with the US in mind.

Be careful what you wish for. Many people will die on both sides. Iran will fight dirty and not let up as quickly as Iraq did. They prepared for 40 years and only managed to kill themselves.

War versus Iran would be bloody. Certainly bloodier than Iraq/Afghanistan without a doubt. I don't wish thousands of our troops to die or hundreds of thousands of their soldiers or hundreds of thousands additional civilians. And you don't just win a war and end right there. After war ends, you have to get a government in place and stabilize before you leave. Iraq took what? 18yrs and over 3 trillion dollars?
