Just read it on facebook. Ewing and the Warriors Run TLC could have been an nba dynasty.

Why did he want to move? What is the source?

I remembered Mitch Richmond getting traded to the Kings in 1992. That's why Rookie Latrell Sprewell averaged 15.4 ppg in his first nba season.

Who gets traded for whom? Surely they had to give up atleast one from the tmc core

*read TLC as TMC

Ewing was a free agent in 1992. And he has an opt out clause in his contract. Mullin did not want to reconstruct his contract, and the Warriors failed to acquire Patrick Ewing.

Hardaway, Sprewell, Ewing is a pretty strong team barring injuries. Might have been enough to steal one of Olajuwon's rings.

Warriors were laughingstocks during the 90s, having only made 3 postseason appearances. With ewing in the lineup, i guess there's potential that they could do at least 6 or 7.

Hmmm. In 92 they lead the league in pace. Would have been quite the shift in philosophy having Ewing in the lineup.

Definitely. The wild card is injuries. Hardaway had a lot of injuries in Golden State, including missing all of the 94' season.

So Patrick Ewing joins TMC in Golden State?

Better than the Barkley Suns, which were a GREAT team. Ewing has ringssssss.

Always felt bad for Ewing, he was such a great player that is hardly remembered because he came along at the wrong time. He REALLY didn't have any help at his peak.

The man was simply like karl malone; he never won a ring at all in his finals appearances.

Not enough help and your guy breaking me.

Also, saw the 2nd half of Toronto/Philly from 2001, last night. Oakley is 37 and had a great game. And I saw Chris Childs.

Reminds me of the Knicks having a big offseason. Going to get Allan Houston (ehhish), trading for LJ (not the right fit as he had to move, post bad back, to SF on a slow-paced team) and losing a terrific playmaker in the process. Starks was streaky because he was dumb and unleashed, but he was a damn good passer and playmaker. Moving him to the bench could have been good, but not for Houston and that crew, at the expense of Mason and letting go of Derek Harper.

We brought in Childs...I remember Hardaway being mad that the Knicks didn't pursue him, and he torched us on my Confirmation (Ewing had a great game).

Childs? The next season he said Charlie should start ahead of him...these were our moves? And on top of that Childs was 29!

Come on man.

Man, when you guys went up 2-0 I thought you finally got us. Then the fiasco under the basket with Charles Smith happened in game 5, whew.

When the Knicks clinched homecourt advantage in '93, John Starks got up on the table in the Knicks locker room waving a towel and chanting "Michael, Michael, where are you Michael?" That was all over the news stations in Chicago. Hated Starks. But that's what made that era great, hating Starks and Miller, and Mourning, and those f^&%^*& Pistons.

Pistons were a whole other kind of dirty haha.

Charles Smith was another. Literally did nothing.
