I feel like the Mavs is a well more all around better team, Butler/Marion are some quality role players, bench is quite good, and if Malone is going to do damage inside there is Tyson Chandler. No body can stop Dirk, Malone could do better than Bosh but still Dirk will be the best player.

After beating Shaq's Lakers and the Olajuwon, Drexler, Barkley Superteam the 64 win Malone/Stockton Jazz would be too much for the 57 win Dirk/Terry Mavs. Stockton (arguably the goat point guard) still playing at an allstar level would be key here because Karl and Dirk cancels each other out on offense with the role players also doing the same providing similar production.
