And the majority of players want to continue the season. A lot of these guys have 3 to 5 years to make the money they will live off of start a business with our whatever. Almost none of them will ever have a year they make a million or even a hundred thousand dollars. And plenty of then are also no doubt sick of sitting at home riding an exercise bike or whatever.

Aww... poor guys, making top dollar now they have to think about what it might be living like the average citizen.
LOL, like anyone gives a shit about their jeopardized privilege.

30% of the teams are out of playoff contention so it makes sense, their only chip is the Draft

My post had nothing to do with sympathy. I am pointing out why most of them no doubt want to play.

Exactly. Normal citizens should be the first to have access to coronavirus testing over athletes. Let's not pretend like these millionaires need the cash more than normal citizens do.

Athletes aren't citizens? Wealth shouldn't be used as a reason to deny access to testing. That's just not justified. If the government ever took over testing it should be doled out equally to all. Of course the current administration isn't going to get that deeply involved regardless. As of now this is being left to business and so long as that's the case thr NBA might as well get enough to get their league going.
What I wonder is why tests have to be such a limited resource. Seems like there are business that can make more of them.

Having money doesn’t make you less of a citizen and when we have millions of tests the few hundred players in the nba aren’t stopping anyone getting it. This isn’t the start when they had like 100 tests in a state.

Considering how many have tested positive....and most people who are tested being negative? There must be millions of them.

When it comes to receiving aid, the average Joe comes before the millionaire. Those who make over 100k don't even get a stimulus check. Why? Because the government thinks they don't need it.
Of course there are not enough tests. If there were, everyone would be back at work already. Just like with the money aid, expect the average working Joe to have priority to any coronavirus testing. Sorry to bring down your first world privileges of watching rich men put a ball through a basket while millions of Americans are suffering from paycheck to paycheck and can't even get back to work.

First of all: the really wealthy got 2 trillion wel before you received your 12 hundred dollar pittance. The unfairness of our government is always in favor of the rich.
But if we engage in your fair world fantasy giving money to the less fortunate makes sense because they need the money more. Keeping tests from the wealthy (Haha yeah right) would not make sense because everyone needs to be healthy.

There are 350 million Americans. We can have millions without having one for everyone. Obviously everyone doesn’t need one.
The tests aren’t some government handout going to the poor.
Plenty of them are in private hands and they go where they go isn’t up to the government. In many places labs are a bigger issue than tests. California has like 60 thousand pending tests.
You can’t tell a private lab who goes first. The nba has money to create its own labs if they chose to. We have no idea how it plays out but one thing is sure....you have no right to tell a doctor or lab tech who they work for.

More than a million have tested positive so there are obviously millions of tests. Last thing I read showed more than 100k being done daily.

I know and it makes the way they are treated just that much more confusing. I don't expect the government to pass on the opportunity to hand banks trillions of dollars but I bet it's something cheap where if they just gave everybody 1195 instead of 1200 they could buy and process 200 million more tests.

I'm not even sure how a nba draft would work. We can't have a lottery based on partial records.
This whole thing is a mess. Cancelling the season just makes it more confusing.

It's not one test per American. It's one test per American per day. They would need 350,000,000 tests available everyday to cover everyone. Production is not even anywhere close to that right now. Let's come back to reality.

You come up with the notion of testing every American every day and then talk about what's realistic?

How else can we safely resume our daily jobs with minimal risk? Any day you skip testing is a day extra that someone could go around infecting additional people.

Well, it's ironic that curry still wants the postseason to push through, despite the fact that his team was the first one to be eliminated in the contention.

Can you actually blame those who don't want to resume playing? Health comes above all and it's not like there are any guarantees in place that preclude the transmission of the virus.
If you are financially secure for the foreseeable future and you have nothing to play for, why would you want to take the risk?

It's funny how Chris Paul didn't even bother to call James Harden to ask his opinion about continuing the season. You can tell Paul doesn't like Harden after that breakup. When Westbrook gets a call, but you don't :lol

Zero chance there's no games. There will at least be playoffs, minimum. In France, they cancelled League 1, which is the french footy league. Most of the season is done, yet the league is set to lose over 900 million euros because of it. That's the 5th best league in Europe.

Was it because they blamed each other for choking in the playoffs as teammates before they bid farewells and parted ways?

Probably. Chris Paul isn't doing his NBPA job in good faith if he's selectively calling some players and not calling players he doesn't like. Time to get a new president. Can't believe they chose a snake to be their representative.

Lives are important. Many NBA players have contacted the virus. NBA legends, commentators, coaches and then family have contracted the virus. I don't think most of the players realize how dangerous of a situation this is. I don't think the NBA realizes how devastating another infection would be when it occurs. It's a PR and legal nightmare just waiting to hit.
