View Full Version : How can you put Bosh in the HOF and not Boozer, Brand, Randolph, Stoudamire, Love...

Power forwards putting up 22-10 were a dime a dozen in the late 00s, and their team success varied and seemed to have virtually no correlation with these numbers, and was completely dependent on the cast around them.

Everyone knows that without joining LeHunk, Bosh is just another de facto ‘star’ with his own team who cant take it anywhere.

The fact he sat in a car seat while riding the Lebron Express shouldnt really be enough to just throw him in the HOF, should it? How many people from a given generation should really be going in? IMO it should only be the top 3-4 creme de la creme, but I know a lot of people think anyone who ever made an all star team should be HOF worthy.

In Bosh’s case, unless we’re saying the HOF is more about iconism than game impact (I do believe theres some argument for that but it should be applied consistently) and Bosh goes in simply because of the Heatles’ impact on history... how do you actually justify putting him in, and not all the other late 00s power forwards with nice stat lines?

Discuss.

Oh, and LeHaters? Check your ****ing agendas at the door.

One of the worst things was how he did the Cavs dirty .shit would have been different if he stayed true and signed with the Cavs again

Same way Jamaal Wilkes is in but Marques Johnson isnt. One played with Bill Walton in college and Magic, Barry, and Kareem in the NBA. The other didnt. Lou Hudson on the Celtics with Cowens and Hondo is in the hall of fame. But he wasnt. So Jojo White is in the hall. Great team adds great seasons to your resume and instead of people deciding to stop caring about your 22/9 that leads to nothing they remember your 18/8 on a team that was a big deal. Add to that 10ish years of mostly healthy all star or borderline all star level play Bosh is obviously a hall of famer by the standards already set.

If it were about basketball alone Calvin Murphy wouldnt have Paul Westphals spot and Dennis Johnson wouldnt have had to get in off pity after he passed.

Amare had a higher peak than any of the players listed but broke down early. As his resume stands, he is borderline to get in.

Boozer, Brand, Randolph only made 2 all-star teams. They are good examples of the limits of stats. A lot of players have similar stats but lesser impact on the game. Teams have to score so every team will have a player or two putting up numbers. Zach Lavine is 26/5/4 for example.

Bosh made 11 all-star teams so he is automatic no matter where he played.

Love is similar to Amare--with a much lower peak but with 1 ring. He is going to be borderline. He looked to be a sure-fire HOF player when he was a perennial all-star but it looks like his last all-star team will be at age 28.

You have no one to blame but the cavs. The player did what's best for him, one should never expect anything less. Cavs knew it is illegal to make a contingent release but did so anyways. Secondly they obviously low balled him, by 30M which is a huge amount in that era.

Love is going to the hall of fame. Multiple year All Star, Rebounding champion, NBA Champion, record for most consecutive games with double doubles. He’s a lock.

amare should make it... if we were to rank the middling PF's by player its something like

amare
brand
bosh
pau
Love
randolph
boozer

with the holy grail of Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, and Dirk Nowitski at the top.

Yeah Bosh is not better than Randolph, much less Pau Gasol.

Damn, seriously.

Bosh racked up appearances in the East, and the years he made it in Miami were a combination of that and their record/success/visibility and hype.

Plus he has two rings and 4 straight appearances on that seminal moment of a basketball team.
