It doesn't get brought up a whole lot because LeBron never made a big deal about it in the media. But he did struggle with the injury on his shooting arm prior to his series against the Celtics in 2010. He shot a free throw left handed because the injury was so severe.
2010 and 2011 he struggled with the injury. Larry Bird broke his knuckles his rookie year and said he never was the same shooter again. Both lebron and bird overcame injuries that dampened their shooting abilities throughout their careers.
LeBron and Bird are the toughest athletes we've seen in the sport. (And coincidentally the greatest we've seen)
