I want to see who the most accomplished guy you would switch out is.

For an obvious example....

You would take Rod Strickland over Mo Williams. Hell id take peak Kirk Hinrich over Mo...or Jameer Nelson.

You probably take Lamar Odom over Chris Gatling or maybe even Jamal Mashburn if you just didnt care for him.

There are people here who would take a guy like Doug Christie over AI im sure. Just wait. They exist.

I want to know the most striking difference in careers between two people....when you would take the non star.

Cj McCollum will come up shortly im sure.

Anderson is a tough one for me. I like him but he played too hard to give you big minutes.

I would trade Jamaal Magloire over....I don't know...about 70 different big men? Maybe that's an exaggeration. But just off the top of my head, Steven Adams.

Michael Cooper over Allan Houston

I was surprised Cooper never made the all star team, he even won DPOY but was never an all star

Allan Houston was just a typical overhyped Knicks player

BJ Armstrong in 94 could be substituted with any number of guards.

I was suprised Mike Bibby was not an nba all star despite putting some solid numbers for the Sacramento Kings. And the Kings was very popular back then.

Houston was the original Klay Thompson. And he played for the Knicks.

Like, career or specific year?

Kobe in his last season could be replaced by a lot of people.

If career, I feel people who had shortened careers like Reggie Lewis or Yao could be replaced with say, Mike Conley.

Or people with troubled careers like Steve Francis or Marbury or maybe Arenas?

Allan Houston was not Klay Thompson. Didn't have his body, his toughness, his defense. Also couldn't explode like Klay.

I meant his shooting form. Klay said that Allan Houston was one of those players he watched while growing up.

True, but in those years he peaked with the Kings I don't know who you take off those west teams to make a spot. Kobe, Payton, Nash were all legit. Maybe Stevie Franchise but he was putting up the big numbers( and the flashy game) that tends to draw all-star votes.

The people that would take Doug Christie over AI would be doing it not because they think he's better than AI... nobody on the planet believes that. Nobody.

They'd be doing it because of a lack of belief in AI to lead a team to a championship because of his play style.

The argument would go something along the lines of... yeah, if this person was going to be the best player on my team, I'd take AI... but generally speaking I wouldn't take AI over Christie because I'd be trying to get some other star to lead the way and Christie would do a better job of fitting in defensively and helping to move the ball.

Doug Christie isn't going to disrupt your entire team's offense or defense... Allen Iverson is absolutely going to disrupt your entire team's offense and a lot of years he's going to disrupt your defense also. His SPG may be high, but how many of those steals come at the expense of being out of position and failing to hit a payoff in a gambled steal attempt that results in an easy bucket or open shot for the opponent?

I'm not making the argument, I want to make that clear, but that would be the line of thinking... and it wouldn't be a terribly bad line of thinking.

I wanted lebron to win with the cavs originally so if I swapped out mo williams with fred vanvleet guaranteed fred would make many of the wide open shots that mo bricked in 2009 and 2010

I'd swap many players all time for fred vanvleet. I might even swap 2011 lebron for vanvleet and watch my boy dwade win a 3rd finals MVP giving him the recognition he deserves for his prime.
