No. Hornacek was a better defensive player and just as good of a 3PT shooter.

Making a lot of posts.
And no. Not to mention that you shouldn't cherry pick great series. Despite being white, Hornacek was one of the better 2 guards and better than Terry, tho you could argue not in 97 or 98...but you can argue it.

Jason Terry is getting underrated in this forum because of the hate on LeBron. People forget he was a Sixth man winner. One of the best players off the bench. If dallas beat the heat in 2006 he could have been the finals mvp. Dirk was choking like a porn star in that series 22 ppg on 39 FG Shooting

Not in 1997 and 1998. Jason Terry was almost a 20 ppg scorer at his peak. He would be a much better player in this era.

He's just a device in knocking LeBron, and it becomes more prevalent when like 3 or 4 posters (maybe 1 or 2 guys) clutter the front page with endless nonsense that never actually talks basketball.
Terry is a terrific player.

Hornacek averaged 20/5/5/2 on 51/44/89 shooting, made the all-star team & led a 53-win Suns team in scoring in 1992. Averaged 20.8 ppg on 52%FG when the Suns beat the Showtime Lakers in the 1990 Playoffs. Averaged 25/6 on 53.6%FG when the Suns beat the Spurs in '92. I could say the same thing about him.
Terry isn't scoring efficiently over Jordan/Pippen, much less helping out against them defensively in the 90s. His poor defense is partly the reason why Wade went off in that Finals. It was an automatic bucket whenever Terry or Harris were switched onto him.
Terry's one of my favorite non-star players, but the Jazz wouldn't win with him in place of Hornacek. They'd be a lot worse defensively.

Just created this thread for the purpose of Acknowledging Jason Terry is a good finals performer despite being a 6th man off the bench.

10.7 PPG from your second scorer and 9.7 PPG from your HOF Stockton won't cut it in a NBA finals. A lot of terrible playoff performances get glossed over with the MJ glow. The 98' Jazz have to be near the top of the list. If Malone got even 15 PPG from a teammate Utah may have won.

Terry wont be even starting for those Jazz because of the aforementioned bad defense. Shandon Anderson is the starter to better matchup with Jordan while Terry and Eisley share the backup mins. at the guard spots.
