His son was already saved by the lifeguards. Gaspard is 1/2 of the tag team Crymetime with JTG.

They said he was pulled to the Ocean by the rip current at the reopened venice beach.

What an absolutely awful way to die... totally helpless... total panic.

From what I've read, dying by drowning supposedly is not that horrible. You lose consciousness before you know it, and many of those who survive say they felt euphoric.

In fact I just Googled "is drowning painful" and one of the links is named "Is drowning euphoric?"

Psychologists say that floating in water is akin to the warm embrace of the womb. Deathologists say drowning is perhaps the best way to die, that a euphoric sensation supposedly blankets one's consciousness right before losing it.Jul 15, 2004

I've also read something similar about being eaten alive. I guess the shock makes it not so bad. I remember 20 years ago reading about a guy in around 1915 who survived a shark attack and he described it as comfortable.

if it ever comes to it, i'll go with a 12 gauge to the brain, thanks.

Shad was an amazing man. After WWE, he was an actor, a comic book writer and a part-time indie pro wrestler. He once prevented an armed robbery by taking a gun off the robber.

Also, according to witness during the riptide incident, the rescuer was trying to save both Shad and his son but Shad let his son be saved first. Then, the big wave came, took Shad and he hasn't been found yet.

Seeing how waterboarding is a form of torture, drowning seems quite unpleasant.

How do rip currents actually kill?

I know how they work but does the human die from fatigue after being drifted out to sea or does the current actually suck you underneath water?

there is a scientist who has done his own research by traveling around the world and looking for riptides to jump into. he says the best way to avoid drowning from a riptide is to not panic. the overall majority of all riptides go in circles (80-85%). the best way to survive a riptide is to just stay afloat as the riptide will probably put you back near the shoreline. if the riptide is not as strong, then you’re advised to swim parallel until the riptide has lost power and you’re free to swim to the shore. a riptide kills by making the person stuck in it exhausted, which leads to drowning. that’s why panicking and trying to swim against the riptide is the last thing you want to do.
