Very desperate times for a sports network that rely on day to day highlights

wonder when they'll roll out Bobcats: 20 Year Journey of Success

they sure as hell did a good job shaming Krause's team management, wonder what they'll say about the leagues worst owner/GM

ESPN is cancer.

Fukk they're milking this dry. This period of no sports would be a great time to dust off some other footage. Let's revisit the 80s Lakers-Celtics rivalry and get some modern perspectives from those involved.

They have the history of sports at their disposal, yet they decide to show a game from a team they literally just spent 10 hours covering in a miniseries. Nobody quite does overkill or runs a subject into the ground like ESPN

Its actually annoying seeing guys like Bird and Magic being interviewed about their takes on this, as if they weren't essential building blocks for what the league evolved to. I'd love to see a Magic vs Bird (Lakers/Celtics by extension) rivalry mini series. Get some takes from the key players while these guys are still alive. I looked at Birds wiki a few days ago and completely went over my head that he's going to be 65 end of next year. Holy shit. Magic himself is 60. Not 'old' per se but these guys aren't spring chickens anymore. It ain't all about MJ and Lebron and it's all the media is spamming on a daily.

I've been hoping for some KAJ games on the NBA YouTube channel. Closest we get is a game where KAJ didn't play lol. Have to question the motives behind this "classic game" thing they have going on. There have been many better "recent" games than what they have put up, let alone the whole history on NBA footage. Would have thought educating younger viewers about NBA history would have been a priority. The sports media industry has been very disappointing and unimaginative since shut down. Shouldn't be surprised I guess.

Yeah. Thing is, Kareem has more or less been kicked out of the GOAT discussion in favor of shoving MJ vs Lebron down our throats so it wouldnt draw the clicks they want. A history lesson going back to the roots of the league so some of the younger fans actually get some knowledge on guys like Russell, Wilt, Oscar and so forth would be more responsible behaviour from ESPN than over saturating this MJ/Lebron narrative. Nobody on either side is offering any new information, just regurgitated talking points over and over between the various opinion personalities like Stephen A, Skip, Wright and others.

They're building up huge pressure every year for LeBron to win, because the GOAT discussion being around the whole time... dont think any other prior player bothered/dealt with this.

When MJ started winning they didnt say can he catch up to Kareem... didnt give that kind of pressure.

Either labeled him GOAT straight away or didnt talk it.
