But they lost to the Celtics in 7 Games. Looking at their roster they had a 6'11 Center like Ray Felix, but he kinda sucked not in the same level as Bill Russell. Celtics supporting casts also out played the Lakers role players. Lakers finally acquired a legitimate center in Wilt Chamberlain and they won the championship in 1972. Both Baylor and West were putting videogames numbers through the 1960's. They lost because the Celtics were the better constructed team.

Baylor averaged 18 rpg at 6'5. Russell is closer to 6'10.5 without shoes.

I've always heard Russell was closer to 6'-9" 215 lbs.

Those stats become less impressive once you find out teams shot the ball 100 times a game. The '62 Lakers averaged 104 FGA per game, in today's NBA where people say the stats are inflated teams average 89 FGA per game.

He is taller than Bird who's a legit 6'9. By the way Sam Jones was a beast in those finals. He could have been a 3x Finals MVP and extremely clutch in the finals.

True that's why the 1980's celtics and showtime lakers were the best teams of their respective franchises. Not only they were extremely stacked, and talented, but they could definitely adapt in the modern era.

Getting by Dr. J and then Moses and the Sixers was no small task. Used to love watching Moses whoopin' up on Parish. After '83, didn't happen enough though.
