Well ventilators in essence breath for you, that causes the lungs to stop trying. Your body basically gives up. Who’s to say they wouldn’t survive without it

Unfortunately, if your lungs collapse and begin to get shutdown due to covid-19, you might not have to choice but to go on a vent just to breathe.
