What do you think of this?

Playoff teams are almost settled, but the seedings can flip wildly.

In the East the #2 seed is on the line between Boston and Toronto, 5th seed battle between Philadelphia and Indiana who are currently tied AND play the next game against each other.

In the West 3-6 can flip.

Also though on 9-10 spot Blazers, Pelicans, Kings. Blazers and Pelicans had an easier end to the season and Memphis a tough one.

Playing five games to finalize seedings makes sense and gets a little rust off before the playoffs. Good choice overall, we lost time and and cant play a full 82 game season but 68 (63+5) is still close.

I just want to see playoff basketball. Make it happen Stern!

Currently:

4) Jazz 41-23

5) Thunder 40-24
vs UTA: W
vs MIN: W
@ WAS: W
@ MEM: L
@ ATL: W

6) Rockets 40-24
@ LAL: L
@ POR: L
vs CLE: W
vs SAC: W
vs CHI: W

3-2

4) OKC 44-25
5) Rockets 43-26
6) Jazz 43-26 (lose tiebreaker)

That‘s what I‘m thinking.

If it comes down to this, Lakers might tank against Utah though.

I‘d say the Rockets get lucky since their next 2 games would be at Dallas and Milwaukee, but I‘m not sure they‘d prefer the 5th seed besides an easier first round.

Plus Lakers have it in their hands if they want Utah at 5.

they have to add at least 5 games ~ 2 weeks worth of games to allow teams a chance.

Okay so we have 8 games left.

I didnt consider this:

For the eight games ahead of the playoffs, every team will pick up its schedule where they left off. When a game comes up against a team that isn’t one of the 22 invited to Orlando, or against a team that’s already played its final eight games, they’ll skip over that opponent and move on to the next.

Jazz schedule:

@ OKC: L
vs NO: W
vs MEM: W
vs LA: L
@ LAL: L
@ SAN: W?
vs SAN: W
@ DAL: L

Lets say roundabout=45-27 62.5%

Lakers might lose intentionally to keep Utah in the 4th/5th seed lodge.

OKC schedule:

vs UTA: W
@ MEM: W?
vs DEN: L
@ MIA: L
@ DEN: L
@ LAC: L
@ LAL: L
vs BKN: W

=43-29 59.7%

OKC is absolutely screwed by this.

They miss out on playing a bunch of easy teams and only get powerhouses.

HOU schedule:

@ LAL: L
@ POR: W
@ DAL: L?
@ MIL: L
@ IND: W
@ PHI: W?
vs TOR: W
@ DAL: L?

=44-28 61.1%

DAL schedule:

vs PHO: W
@ LAC: L
@ POR: W?
@ PHO: W
vs HOU: W?
vs UTA: W
vs MIL: L?
@ MEM: W

=46-29 61.33%

They'd be ahead of Houston.

But the weird part is Houston's 8th game against Dallas would leave Dallas already done by that point

49-24 66.2%

Easy 3rd seed

If Dallas is already done by the 8th game for Houston, Houston would play Spurs at home and almost guaranteed win and thus clinch the 5th seed ahead of Dallas.
