View Full Version : Will the coronavirus be forever? Has it permanently changed the world?

That’s what I’m afraid of. The world has already changed. Everything you see on the news is corona. Plus they say there will be a second wave in the Fall. And the current wave isn’t over.

Look at Notre Damne. They are gonna social distance and do school in the Fall but have already cancelled the rest of the year because they know it’s coming.

And I doubt they’ll come up with a successful vaccine. Half the country does not want to get vaccinated.

So where does this leave us? Corona is here to stay? That means no more sports fans forever. No more going to large events. Always wear masks wherever you go.

The flu is still here. There is NO plan. Think about it. More people will lose work the further this goes and more people will die of suicides. We are done. This is very depressing.

Don’t you get the vibe corona is here to stay? That’s what the new normal meant.

This is why I kept saying we just need to get exposed and build antibodies and move on. That's what we need to do honestly. Unless you're at risk then that's different of course.

I honestly don’t know what else we can do. I’m losing it. Something is telling me the election has something to do with it.

That's easy to say. My dad has heart issues, not sure what he's supposed to do.

The worrying thing about the virus is that we constantly hear different manners of it adapting and mutating into something different.

Covid 19 could become part of the landscape like HIV.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like it'll happen, at least for a while, as the societal branding over the last month has more or less completed, so right now this is what's being communicated.

1) Authority figures, like people from the CDC, saying that things will never go back and that you must be worried.

2) Big companies doing major marketing campaigns about how things will never go back to normal, that it's a tough time, how everything is uncertain. The US commercial landscape at the moment is more or less one big message of despair and that you must be worried.

3) Social media with a lot of people talking about how you must be worried, that things will never go back. Both supposedly real conversation, like Lakers Legend stating that it "could become part of the landscape", but also fake conversation through use of bots(there's another thread here on the board on that) and people actually being paid to express said opinion.

So yeah, it's basically a mass message that you can't escape, and if you express an opinion going against said message, there is sure to be someone on social media to shame you for it. It's hard times ahead.

The year of the rat surely keeps getting worse each time.

Coronavirus has been around way before this pandemic it's not a new thing

However this specific strain of the virus will go away over time

Who knows if it will truly ever go away entirely. A vaccine will eventually be made. It will be mandatory to receive. Social distancing will eventually end. Perhaps COVID will become a seasonal illness with a yearly vaccination. Perhaps the immunity lasts longer than that. No one really knows at this point. There will eventually be a return to normalcy - that much is certain. The timing of it all? Up in the air.

Pretty much. SARS and MERS are virtually non-existent. Same with Ebola.

Those 3 didn't have the infection rate like covid19. Probably more likely for this to become a seasonal flu.

We already went past the point of no return and loss the battle.

It will be gone by Nov. 3, 2020.
