To advanced to the Western Conference Finals. Rider scored 24 points while Jim Jackson scored 17 points. Malone was held down to 8 points and struggled against the much younger Blazers front court. Jeff Hornacek had his best game of the series with 21 points while Stockton had 14 points and 10 assists.

That blazers team were a very good defensive team. Kinda reminded me of the 2000's Pistons, but they lacked consistent scorers like Billups, and Hamilton. JR Rider led the blazers in scoring against Utah with 19.3 ppg, but he struggled in the conference finals. Tha's why he and jackson got traded for steve smith in the off season. Sheed Wallace is an underrated defender.
