It's wild how easily and unconsciously the "woke" left assumes the figure of the very same sheeple they accused others of being, not so long ago.

*YOU DONT BELIEVE IN SCIENCE is the new YOU DONT SUPPORT THE TROOPS. A cheap intimidation tactic used to deflect debate. Fascinating how many people who spew this rhetoric have extremely poor understanding of science themselves.

*I remember Dems supposedly hated the enormous debt the Iraq War plunged us into, and there were numerous real-time online trackers of how much the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were costing. It seems though Dems have no problem with overblown COVID hysteria costing trillions.

*It was also interesting how an unconstitutional provision such as the Patriot Act, which was ostensibly pushed through to "save lives in times of crisis," was met with so much blowback from Anti-Republican demonstrators. But when all the political actors currently making a career of antagonizing the Orange Boogieman pass laws telling us not to leave home, the left falls in line.

*Also, I always found it quite sad how gleefully libs would come running into the room with fresh death toll numbers each month regarding the wars. Just because they felt it made Bush look bad, which to them was worth a trillion dead service men and women. I've noted a similar giddiness expressed with every newly reported re-emergence of the virus in a particular area. They dont seemed saddened by COVID deaths, as much as exhilarated that their political arguments will get a fresh shot in the arm (no pun intended).

When you observe people like bladefd, Maxfly, RRR3, J2theIzzo, -primetime-, Itsmillertime, ralph_i_el, etc. it's strange to see how mindlessly partisan they are, yet dont seem to have the least bit of shame about it. It's like they somehow can just brush off accurate observations of their obvious hypocrisy and keep pushing forward, with some inexplicable determination to stick to their conditioned way of thinking, without any interest in stopping for a moment to examine it.

To me, 'taking a side' without having scrutinized it and even doubted it at first, before ultimately deciding whether it passes the logical smell test, feels so embarrassing. I loathe the idea of being a typical droner of hollow rhetoric. But these posters are like the opposite. They are drawn to the droning. It seems to be their comfortable state of being.

Is this a fundamental contrast in the pool of humanity? An inherent and necessary yin and yang?

Someone should make a COVID mixtape like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mus37x7LAwI

include Gavin Newsom 3/19: "We need a lockdown because California will see 25.5 million cases in an 8-week period" (actual cases: 0.08 million over 11 weeks)

Shit like that

I could understand if people were dropping dead in the streets but the majority even from the start would only get a sore throat..
The mass overreaction and gullibility of the average person was incredible. Ignoring all rational arguments and going full cnn..

Where's mini wheels, mr 10 times deadlier than the flu! What a moron.

the distance between U.S. to china (not counting the distance between the border and wuhan) and the distance between U.S. and Iraq is roughly 511km (11,640km and 11,129km)

On that name, it was shortly before Trump was elected. Jizzo was effeminately crying and carrying on about candidate Trump.

He retired that account shortly after the election but continues to post on the gimmick accounts Facepalm, Raymone, and East River Livin

you could say, maybe .. either way this was/is ridiculous .. you don't shut down society over a virus .. it ain't the first or the last .. if you wanna quarantine people, quarantine the sick and old not perfectly healthy people .. the warriors of the past are looking at us in disgust and cringing

The LEFT succeeded in shutting down the economy and instilling fear in everyone. It's too bad Trump saw through it, late, but still... I bet these idiotic states still want to remain closed and will come begging for a federal bailout because their state economy is about to go bankrupt.

All this to get Joe elected... I don't think Bernie would have been onboard for such measures, which explains a lot.

Cuomo just reported only 73 deaths in the entire state of New York. 73. State is still locked down. What does he want? 90 days of ZERO fatalities before he feels it's safe to venture out?

A closer analogy to this is happening in Denmark. In the last few days, through leaks, it has come out that the Danish CDC never recommended to shut down the country, at least not in the way they ended up doing. The head of the CDC even warned that if too much is done, the societal and health effects could very well be worse than the virus itself.
This was their recommendation up until March 10th, on March 11 the prime minister imposed an extensive shutdown on
"recommendation of the authorities" was her quote.
The day after, a law was passed with express speed, removing the CDC as the decision making authority in crisis situations and moving that power to the government.
Now, when asked about it, the Danish prime minister says that the council to shutdown the country was a wide array of authorities, but she won't say specifically who recommended her to shutdown the country, so the only known is that it wasn't the CDC.

i still cant believe people fell for this... 100% politically motivated scam.

look at how much control they assumed immediately by using fear mongering.

It bears a tremendous resemblance to 9/11 and the patriot act.

The crazy thing is every developed nation in the world CAN create viruses like this at this point. Biological warfare has been developed for decades.

I’m not saying this particular outbreak was intentional/conspiracy/etc. Could have simply been another swine flu, bird flu, west nile, etc they were planning to pump up for political gain the next time one came around.

But it could be easily replicated by any major government at any time I would think. At this point we have the capacity to release new strands and strains and of this kind of thing every week if desired. They can use these things like a cattle prod any time they want, knowing a huge number of the frightened and frenzied masses will stick closely to cuomo and co for direction.

Wild times.

The Deputy Prime Minister is outwardly disagreeing with the prime minister saying we should be fully opening up and moving "alert levels" already and opening up travel to Australia.

Asked if New Zealand had been in level 2 for too long, he said: "My party made it very clear we thought that. And the Prime Minister has actually admitted that at the Cabinet meeting – she said it."

Basically we are still at some level of restrictions up until the 22nd June.

We've had 3 cases I think in the last two weeks. No deaths. No hospitalizations. Just cases. This is getting absolutely draconian now. I'm not doing any kind of social distancing or masking up at all now. Pointless. Apparently she didn't even have the power to do the lockdown in the first place and warrantless police searches were passed to ensure everyone was abiding at level 2. These kiwis love to give me shit about americans and our "rights" but this woke them up a little bit. It was originally slated that the warrantless searches would be valid for two years but they got caught out and reduced it to 90.

This is what happens when you have a unicameral parliament and not bicameral like other countries. Completely ridiculous.

I do like that testing widely is done. I disagree with a few of my right wing brethren on that.

Wall Street needed a new revenue stream... buying up foreclosures and a new rent controlled market... faster payouts then current mortgage system... a new socialism where financial institutions control it rather than govt

Take advantage... my REIT stocks took a dive but it was def. a good opportunity to purchase.

These stocks were and still are a good buy considering they are required to payout 90% of their profits -- there's still pre-COVID income from the previous quarter still trickling in. But they of course can delay the dividend payout at a later time as long as they payout their 90% by the end of the year.

This whole thing has helped bring me closer to retirement.
