Not a big fan of this TBH. It's too far away, too close to new season. I don't get the difference in safety/risk of COVID in say a month vs 2 months? I think July 1st is a way better target date and easily achievable with all the money+staff Disney+the NBA have. Safety is fine and all, but with their combined resources why do we need 2 months to prepare?

Totally ridiculous. People can walk through grocery stores touching everything but we can't have basketball games without fans ASAP.

I don‘t understand why they are pushing this away further and further... Mid July, now late to early August?

They wanna wait 60+ days for what? Whats wrong with July 1? Incompetent shits trying to make their job look more difficult than it is.

Let's just give it to the Bucks.

They deserve it.

Right??? They opened restaurants, barbers in Cali today. Stores have been open. Breeding grounds for COVID like Walmart open 24/7. They are even opening the THEME PARK THIS WEEK! But we have to wait until August for the season? Which potentially messes with next season too? It makes no sense.

I thought there goal was to end the season before September to avoid competing with NFL. I guess Silver has his head up his ass, delaying does nothing and the virus could just get worse as far as we know.

They might as well end the season and start fresh in the fall.

Yep. If you're going to do it that late, may be just in time for a 2nd Covid seasonal wave. It's just dumb decision making all around.

Might as well is used when 2 alternative options border on the same outcome, you don't really have a good grasp of the language do you.

Funny how someone immediately berates you for making such bold statement. :oldlol:

July 31st is WAY too late! May as well cancel season. You're going to have a 5 month break, teams with nothing to lose claiming "health crises" in refusing to come back. Then the teams like Blazers who have almost not shot, but WANT one.. fighting the league to continue a regular season. This is a fking disaster and has seriously killed a lot of my interest in the NBA. What is the difference between starting say July 1st or June 30th and July 31st from a health perspective!?

Maybe they're struggling to mobilize. They've never tried anything like this before and all the teams need to make changes to all kinds of protocol and procedures.

They were probably working on things this whole time but it could be that the Florida idea came out of left field and probably wasn't something they were considering until only recently. They're probably throwing out some contingency plans that they had already been working on.

If they end the season with a World Cup-style 20-team tournament, it could work. I’d watch the hell out of that.

How they’d make it work while keeping everyone safe is a whole other ball of wax and is infinitely more important.

What about the next season

Isn't this the last season? How long do these greedy pigs want to drag this NBA thing for?

Ask the goddamn bald adam silver for a more comprehensive answer with regards to your question, not me.
