Iggy turned around the series for the Warriors. The Spurs were in cruise control, in contrast.

Kawhi led his team in GmSc and didn't have anybody on his team that was close to Curry offensively. I would go with Kawhi quite easily. Kawhi has an argument for his team's best player, while Iggy does not.

Kawhi outplayed Lebron in that series and Lebron got his numbers when the games were out of reach.

Iggy was 31-years old already when he got his fmvp.

Now fast forward to the 2019 finals against the raptors, why didn't he do the same defensive strategy he used against lebron to shut down kawhi effectively?

Actually Kawhi was at 12 ppg thru the first 2 games (1-1)

But then he averaged 24 on 80% true shooting in the last 3 games (all blowouts)

His emergence as their #1 option unlocked their offense.. all on lebron - it was his man .. a role player before coming out on lebron

Basketball reference also has single game BPM advanced stat now. Kawhi's single game BPM nba finals games 3-5

Game 3: 16.0
Game 4: 15.9
Game 5: 11.4

After series was tied 1-1, Kawhi was the most impactful player on both teams by far.

Both are irrelevant. In 2014 the Spurs won because Wade was in early retirement. In 2015 the Warriors won because Love and Kyrie were out. So the answer to this question doesn't even matter. Both series are still about LeBron's dominance during this period.
