BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD.

First Take's prime time player ranking has Kawhi at the

-4th place? How? :facepalm
-Historical playoff run? Yes!
-Helped Toronto winning their first championship as a franchise? Yes!
-Beat Giannis? Yes!
-Beat KD, Steph, Klay? Yes!
-Has a winning record over LeBron since he came in the league.

The other 3 can't say the same (Kawhi was not in his prime in 2014).

Just came here to remind y'all.
How y'all doing during this pandemic? :confusedshrug:

And can you tell your cops to stop shooting my people, please? The worst country in the world. I am going to be straight up with you.

He eliminated Lebron in the biggest finals blowout in history while leading his team in GmSc, eliminated Harden, Embiid, Giannis, Curry.

Kawhi has the best playoff resume of his generation I would say.

Kawhi didn't defeat LeBron.

That wasn't Kawhi's team. That was Duncan's team.

Kawhi on his own team has yet to defeat LeBron.

Kawhi was the best player on spurs in the 2014 finals because he led them in GmSc and defended Lebron, regardless of what narrative you want to twist to put that old man over.

Kawhi's GmSc was only 15.8. LeBron's was 22.5.
Kawhi's PER was only 25.2. LeBron's was 32.6 (very high).

Check ESPN's new All-Time Top 74 list to understand what happened in that series:

2014 Heat: LeBron 2, Wade 26, Allen 56
2014 Spurs: Duncan 8, Leonard 25, Ginobili 58, Parker 70

Wade was a shell of himself so LeBron was severely outnumbered.

Who cares about Lebron's stats, he got his ass whopped. It was the biggest finals gap in NBA history, a 14PPG difference. Kawhi was shutting down Lebron and Lebron was only about to lead a 104 rated offense.

:oldlol: 32.6 is the second highest Finals PER of LeBron's career. It would also rank as Michael Jordan's second highest Finals PER.

Kawhi didn't do sh-t to LeBron.

LBJ dominated Leonard in both 2013 and 2014.

Anybody can pad their stats when they are getting blown out by 14 points every game. Lebron was always passive when Kawhi guarded him, which took miami out of their comfort zone.

You don't understand what you're looking at when you're watching them play. Pay attention to the Spurs entire defense instead of just Kawhi and LeBron. The Spurs 5 players were defending LeBron. Not just Kawhi. Pop did that in both 2013 and 2014, actually. They were fortunate in 2014 that Wade fell off a cliff. That was what basically decided the series.

Once Miami only had 1 scoring threat left they could defend that threat with 5 defenders via their zones. Which is what they did.

LeBron was still great, but you can't beat a team like the Spurs alone.

I haven't seen someone use Player Efficiency Rating in like 8 years. I would caution against it.

No Kawhi, no ring. Kawhi was the one who frustrated Lebron and got in his head all series. Lebron would be super aggressive when anybody but Kawhi was defending him.

As far as Kawhi's offense, the series was tied 1-1 and they started giving the ball to Kawhi. After that, they never lost again. What happened the previous year when the spurs offense ignored Kawhi? They lost the series instead of winning in 5.

Kawhi has had Jordan like supporting casts his entire career. His rings don't hold much weight. 17ppg role player on the Spurs and played a severely injured GSW team in the finals. Great player, but obviously a quitter and mentally weak which holds him back from ever being considered a top 2 player. He'll always be in the shadows behind the likes of LeBron and Durant (and soon Giannis and Zion) because he doesn't have the killer instinct that LeBron has.

KD wasn't playing in 2016 finals either and that doesn't stop LeBron from bragging about it.

That was a great Spurs team but I don't think Kawhi didn't do too much to stop LeBron but he had a good impact.

That's Lebron's problem. His stats don't mean much. They stay about the same win or lose(except for '07 and '11)

Kawhi led the playoffs in win shares ONCE. LeBron did it 9 times. Cute. Keep going Kawhi, you can do it!
