Why is Kevin Durant considered the best player in the league?

There’s no logic that supports that claim. How can a player who’s only elite at “scoring” be considered the best player in the league? When I think of the best player in the league, I consider that player to not just be good or elite at scoring, but to be good or elite at every other facets of the game as well. KD’s whole game is consisted of just getting buckets and subpar at everything else. He’s not an elite rebounder given his height and wingspan. He’s an average playmaker. He’s never won “All-Defensive first team”. He’s only elite at scoring the ball and rightfully considered the best scorer ever. LeBron, Kawhi, and Bird have more intangibles and dimensions to their games than Durant does. It’s even laughable that some people are claiming that he should be ranked higher on the all-time list than Larry Bird.

Yet, Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless have brainwashed a lot of people into thinking that he is. Obviously, they’ve created that anti-LeBron narrative for clicks. I just can’t ever wrap my mind around KD being the best player in the league. I always see him as a taller and more efficient version of, Carmelo Anthony.

I don't think KD is the best player in the league, but you're underrating him. Durant is not sub-par at passing or rebounding. Durant has been in the top 2 at rebounding at the small forward position for most of the last decade and he's also been top 3 in assists at small forward 5 times in the last 6 seasons.

KD has also led the small forward position in blocks in each of his last 3 seasons.

His overall game is much more solid than you realize - probably why he was just ranked by ESPN as the 14th greatest player of all time.

Westbrick was a horrible 2nd option and a horrible 1st option... cancer basically because you can never win with a player like westbrick. low iq, horrible shooter, horribly inefficient, terrible decisions especially in crunch time. He put up crazy stats on a 1st round exit squad and won an MVP. He then got the best version of Paul George we've seen and still couldn't make it out of the 1st round. People who criticize KD for not winning with Westbrick and garbage role players don't understand basketball.

I explained how he isnt "sub-par" at passing or rebounding. He has been amongst the top producers at his position at both.

But that isnt to say he's as good as Bron or Bird. Those guys are a different level.

and you're underselling his playoff defense. he has played monster help defense on many occasions.

He did that with the Warriors. He bought into their defensive schemes. His blend of athleticism and all-around shooting makes him the most lethal scorer ever, but it still doesn’t make him steamrolled pass the likes of LeBron, Kawhi, Giannis who are dominating scorers in their own right. KD is without a doubt a top 3 player in league when he’s healthy, but he still has a lot to prove in terms of leadership, making his teammates better, etc.
