Pippen actually wasn't a better defender.

I dont know where you got that, but at his peak LeBron was hyper Pippen on the defensive end - he was doing everything Pippen was doing from a defensive standpoint plus more because he's much bigger, stronger, faster. In other words he had greater defensive range - a better ability to defend big power forwards and centers while still locking up the quickest PGs.

LeBron is also a better rim protector. He can defend the hoop like a shot blocking big as the last line of defense. Pippen didnt do that.

Remember LeBron is 2 inches taller and 50 pounds heavier, so he was/is a much better post defender in general.

Bron was also a more intimidating defender, imo. Him moving on to a problem player was usually enough to shake that players confidence.

Another thing about LeBron's defense that goes unappreciated is that he can defend at a high level without fouling. He does that better than anyone in history.

LeBron is also a better all around player obviously. He's better than Pippen at literally everything except for steals, but LeBron was not as much of a gambler, which isnt a bad thing.

While I agree that LeBron is clearly a better basketball player, you are underestimating Pippen's ability and his athleticism. Pippen was basically as athletic as LeBron. He was incredibly fast in the open court in his prime, people don't realize just how fast he was. Plus he could jump like LeBron off one foot and was even a better jumper than LeBron off 2 feet. Picking Pippen was actually quite similar to Jordan in that he was in excellent 2 foot and 1 foot jumper. And he had incredibly long arms, longer than either Jordan or LeBron's arms. even though he was listed at 6' 7", he was clearly at least a couple inches taller than Jordan . Although he was lighter than LeBron he was certainly no slouch when it came to strength. Besides, even with all of LeBron's weight and power, he is much more of a finesse player, just like Pippen was.

That's a very good point. Jordan literally has a losing record in his career without Pippen. Pip being able to transform that empty stats ballhog into a 6 time champ is a more impressive accomplishment than anything LeBron's done

I would rather have pippen on my team. Im not winning with lebron either so just go for pippen coz he knows who he is. He doesnt have an ego of a jordan like lebron so you could still put a jordan on your team. With lebron, you cant put a jordan on your team or there will be ego clash. So thats what makes it really hard to win with lebron coz he has the skills of a pippen but wants to be credited as jordan.
