No, his season averages met the prerequisites for obtaining a single triple double, that's true, but he did not average a triple double. In order to average a triple double, one would have to obtain a triple double in every single game in which they played, as triple doubles are binary events AND you can't obtain more than 1 per game. If someone got 81 triple doubles and they played in 82 games, they would not have averaged a triple double.

Sure, and the Thunder paid two of their best players to not do their jobs, i.e. on defense have Westbrook sag 10 feet off his man every play and Adams not rebound the ball. Example of how something that looks good on paper is actually a net negative. Sometimes when if you are playing and you want to pad your stats a little miss a wide-open layup. Sure that means you suck at basketball, but the box score says you are shooting 50 percent assuming you manage the put back and grabbing offensive boards. Looks good on a stat sheet.

Now you can apply this logic to every stat in basketball.

"He didn't average 30 points a game since he didn't do it in every game."

No, that's incorrect. A single point is a binary event, much in the way that a single triple double is a binary event. It either happened or it did not happen. A point happens it or does not happen.

If you were able to obtain more than 1 triple double per game, you averaging a triple double on the season would be significantly easier. Alas, you can't.

If it costs $300 to buy a case of Bud Light and 60 percocets. How many Bud Lights and percocets can I buy with 2 Orlando Magic tickets that cost $250 each

But you can average 10 points per game, right?
And you can average 10 rebounds per game.
And you can average 10 assists per game.

So what is it called when you average all three at the same time?

By your logic:

- A player didn't average 10 rpg if they had a game where they grabbed 9 rebounds
- A player didn't average 30 ppg if they had a game where they scored 29 points
- A player didn't average 10 apg if they had a game where they dished out 9 assists

You really don't know what average means do you? :oldlol:

Averages is taught in elementary school. If you are a grown ass man and still don’t understand averages then you can continue walking around stupid

Whatever he did, I didn’t give a **** about it. He was a low level elite player in 2017.

Curry, Paul, LeBron, Kawhi and Draymond were all better.

He topped Durant and the rest though. 6th best in the league at best.

Though I think Jokic might’ve been 6th best himself.

In 2018 and 2019 he wasn’t even close to elite.
