You fail to notice that the guy you named that account after was....at his very peak...the best player on a team with 8-10 other all stars that suffered something like a 25 point olympic blowout to a team led by Carlos Arroyo?

FIBA and the NBA...are not the same thing.

They went easy in the friendly exhibition not running their real offense or trying to win. Got to the real games and Carlos took team USA apart:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwOm5PiGZow

Tim Duncan played more minutes than anyone on either team. Lebron came off the bench for 13 minutes(half of Richard Jefferson). Blowout loss to Puerto Rico who themselves lost 4 times those games. They couldnt take Italy who didnt have a single NBA player but they made light work of America led by a prime Duncan who also couldnt get us the W vs not only Manu and Argentina...but Lithuania. Duncan again leads in minutes as Lebron plays 6 off the bench and we lose while Jasikevicius was by far the best player on the floor. Game helped him get an NBA spot...where it turned out he couldnt keep up(I liked him though and was annoyed Don Nelson didnt find time for him). We beat Greece in 2004 by the skin of our teeth with Spanoulis playing only 2 minutes that game.

Much as people like you want to spin the bad mid 2000s americas teams that lost in 02, 04, and 06 to be because of Lebron its obvious America just didnt take things serious at the time.

You leave guys like Shaq, Kobe, Tmac, KG, Kidd, and so on home all those years.....and barely practice? You get what you deserve playing in someone elses element. And that doesnt change no matter if Tim Duncan or Lebron is the best player.

They beat Lithuania by a single jumper in 2000.

The world was too good to half ass it against after the 90s.

They didn’t half ass it it was because the nba started catering to its stars while fiba and the olympics were not going to do that. Thus started losing.
Greece wasn’t even good and as you see got spanked in the gold medal game.
