Pretty awesome.

LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Entertainment is set to produce a documentary focused on the 1921 Tulsa race massacre, one of the worst acts of racism-fueled violence in American history.

It was 99 years ago that a group of white rioters in Tulsa destroyed the city’s black community, one of the wealthiest black neighborhoods in the United States, known as “Black Wall Street.”

At the time, 36 deaths were reported. However, historians have said that number is likely closer to 300. Viewers of HBO’s “Watchmen” may recognize the events of the massacre from its depiction as an origin story in the popular series.

News of the documentary comes as protests continue nationwide following the death George Floyd, a black man who died while being arrested by a white police officer in Minneapolis.

“The Tulsa Race Massacre is not just a black story but American history,” wrote director Salima Koroma, who will helm the project, on Twitter. “The fabric of this country is soaked in racism and today 99 years later, we’re still fighting for change,” she wrote. “That’s why I’m partnering with SpringHill Entertainment to tell the story of Black Wall Street.”

As long as they simply tell the story, and dont get too uppity and try to recreate a black wall street...

Then I’m sure White Wall Street wont mind.

And by White I mean....

You know.

Can't help but chuckle that millions of Americans saw Watchmen and thought this was just part of the story and not actual American history.
