Sources: The NBPA informed players today that NBA/NBPA will conduct coronavirus testing every night during resumed season -- likely mouth swabs/light nasal swabs and not full invasive nasal swab. Minimum seven days quarantine for a player if positive.

At this point why even have a season? Could you imagine Giannis/LeBron/Harden/Kawhi etc missing 3 games of a series or even the finals due to a positive test!? Also MANY false tests, so what if a test isn't accurate, yet costs a team a series? This one rule makes the season null and void.

Even if the Clippers won it all, this will be a cheap, meaningless ring unless all the top players avoid this , which I doubt will happen.

I think it could make it more interesting. Team victories and players stepping up.

With how super contagious this virus is, 1 player will get it on the 1st day then you have 2-3 players the next day and then multiply on the following days.

Then they'll force to suspend it again.

Just give the trophy to the team with the best record.

it's ridiculous, a bunch of players tested positive and werent even sick a little.

These are peak peak peak athletes in the primes of their lives... this virus cant hurt them its too weak.

the night before the Finals, teams will be sending "room service" to each other's star players.

Coaches, assistants, referees and other personnel that needs to be on the game don't have the same energy, immune system, body as these dudes.

My job is at 6 people confirmed. Only 2 were even sick and one said it was pretty much a head cold. Both of them are old and out of shape. The others had zero symptoms.

If you could test everyone I bet half the people scared of getting it already had it. This shit is in many millions of people who just don’t know because it isn’t that serious most of the time.

I genuinely believe I had it at the start of all this but I assumed it was my usual issues.

i know a middle aged guy from work who had bad lung problems since january no tests came back positive for flu or cold and the doctors chalked it up to him being a smoker 15 years ago.

I GUARANTEE that fella had covid. And i interacted with him everyday. He was a good guy, but got fired for taking two boxes of gloves from the warehouse in march.

The recommended quarantine is 14 days.... why do NBA players get special treatment?

Because playing basketball is an essential job I guess.

If anything, they're more sensitive than normal people. Talk to any NBA player and you'll be amazed how scared guys are of getting even a cold during a playoff run cuz it could interrupt their rhythm. They're in peak shape precisely because anything less would hamper them.

To be fair, theyre all together in the bubble anyway. So the 7 days only applies to returning to NBA stuff. They can always be kept in quarantine for additional time before returning to the general public.

If it’s only other NBA players they risk spreading it to during the playoffs, and theres an incredibly minuscule chance it will seriously affect anyone... who cares anyway? Realistically theyre probably only quarantining at all just for PR purposes.

The recommended quarantine is 14 days....

7 days is the best amount of days. I think it could be less. Maybe inject some disinfectant, could be beautiful. The best solution, a lot of people are saying it. And the weather is warmer now, so it will magically go away, you watch. Burisma is the source of corona, and China, it's all over OANN, real journalists, not nasty ones.

Because they're elite athletes and have access to the best doctors in the world.

OP, of course this is an asterisk season. Anyone saying otherwise is just too emotionally invested.
