Could see someone like Boston, Denver, Philly, Houston get hot and click in the right time and win it all. No home court is huge.

No home court is a major disadvantage for weaker teams that need the home crowd more than the stronger teams do.

Those weak teams have less talent and no home games. Huge disadvantage.

It's going to come down to talent in the end. The team with the most top end talent will win.

Do they have anyone tough inside? Not a scorer, but someone that can hold their ground on the glass

When the pace slows up and the rim gets smaller as the Finals progress....they are going to need some rebounding to keep them in it. With Golden State out of the picture for once this is it. This is their chance to make it happen. It will be interesting to see how they respond.

truth is would any really know what to expect?? This is such new territory for everyone..

I am still wondering if there will be some crowd noise pumped in... like I don't want to hear the sound of sneakers screeching all game long.

I don't believe they do, its a shame they never tried to get Cousins.

Weaker teams need their home crowd more but they also don't need to deal with the stronger teams home crowd. i'm not sure there's any more or less an advantage in this situation. All things equal the better team is going to win but the removal of built in home court advantages may end up making for a few surprises, or at least a few series being more competitive than under normal conditions.

The rest is probably the biggest advantage Houston has going for them. The biggest knock on both Harden and Russ is them tiring in the playoffs due to overextension in the regular season. Now, they basically have had a full off-season of rest (in which Harden finally committed to shedding weight and getting in optimum shape) and can go full head of steam straight though the playoffs. I can't overstate how big that could be.

But seriously, if Harden were to win this ring, I can only imagine the amount of people lining up after to try and discredit it. :oldlol: :oldlol:

Rockets are probably the biggest darkhorse candidate to win the title. Yes the Rockets are 6th in the West but W/L records can be deceiving.

I mean, why not?

Harden and the Rockets could win the title if everything goes right.

25 years ago they won the nba championship as the 6th seed in the West.

I agree. Rockets have a puncher's chance if both Harden and Westbrook are able to shine together consistently over a 7 game series. Stranger things have happened.

they traded capela away so pj tucker could play center and give harden & westbrook wider lanes than ever seen before.

they have zero chance at beating Lebron and AD with no rim protection. And in fact LA routed them in the RS with no capela.
