Cops TV series canceled after 31 years in wake of protests

Cops has been canceled.

Paramount Network has decided to dump the long-running true-crime reality TV series.

Cops was already pulled from the cable channel after nationwide protests of police brutality and racism following the death of George Floyd on May 25.

Now the network confirms the series has been permanently shelved. "Cops is not on the Paramount Network and we don’t have any current or future plans for it to return," a network spokesperson said.

Cops was headed into its 33rd season and has aired more than 1,100 episodes. The series premiered in 1989 and ran for 25 seasons on Fox.

I remember back in the Summer of 93 they kept playing the Cops song on the radio like every 30 minutes. I thought it was odd because that's the Cops intro, it's not a new song.

But anyway, might not be much, but I'm sure fans of the show are not going to be happy about this and vote for Trump if they were thinking about voting for somebody else. Because the BLM people hate Trump.

We are so sorry we aired an incredibly entertaining TV series with mega ratings every year. We are no longer airing it because the backlash would be too strong from internet thugs and virgins alike who are setting out to destroy businesses and the country because they feel entitled to handouts, and use random and rare situations that get blown up by the media to do so.

The Bad Boys intro song reminds me so much of being a kid in 1994. Staying the night at my grand parents' house after the Northridge earthquake with Cops playing on a tiny 12 inch TV.

My father watched that a lot back in the 90s. I remember watching it growing up in Cincinnati from 84 to 04 and they'd had some episodes in Cincinnati and I'd be like "I know that street! I knew crack heads were there!"
