Leftists are not interested in hearing different viewpoints, but Rogan brings a lot of conservatives to podcast (and ends up agreeing with a lot of their points, just watch the one with Ben Shapiro).

It's true. People love questioning the dominant viewpoints. They love to be reassured that they're right and everyone else is wrong. They love to click on articles with things like "He found this one special trick and experts hate him" or "He broke all the rules and it ended up working out". In fact this is so attractive that people will reject the dominant viewpoint by default and go off the deep end and creat their own echo chambers where they all tell each other how we are right and everyone else is a sheep. It's become like a religion. Of course there's the other side too, people who have so little free time that they will just go with the dominant viewpoint and assume someone else has done the thinking for them.

Joe is successful because he uses this to his advantage. He has a variety of guests on his shows(who themselves are often contrarian or bring alternative viewpoints) and Joe engages with them in non confrontational and largely agreeable ways. With his most popular phrases being "it's certainly possible" or "that's very interesting". No matter how batshit the guest is. As a result when the fans of the guest tune in, they get the impression that Joe agrees with them. And people love people who agree with them so they become Joe fans too. Over time as Joe became bigger he has started to actually press people a bit.
