View Full Version : Who is the best player that can join the Warriors without causing a ruckus?

When Durant joined the Warriors it led to people from around the league to bemoan the stacked superteam that was formed. In the current situation the Warriors look like they will finish last in the regular season but are going to get their core back together for next season. Andre Iguodala leaving the team freed up some cash and the team has a mid-level exception they can use to get another player to join. Who is the best player the Warriors can get without causing howls of protest about how unfairly stacked they are?

At this point pretty much anyone. Theyre a bit older, coming off injuries and just lost the finals to the raps. It wont look as bad as when they were dominating the league 4 or 5 years ago.

Time for Chef Mandingo Curry to get his big dick swinging again

A Jimmy Butler/KAT level player. Good enough to make them elite but not to the point of altering the landscape like KD's move.

Hard to say. Curry is their current "leader" and he's easily the biggest bitch in the NBA. Like it's not even close. So even a guy like Serge Ibaka would make Curry extremely insecure and even more passive aggressive than he already is.

Why would they not be elite now?

Le me rephrase that, assuming Steph/Klay return to form it would make them 'more' elite than they otherwise would be. But as I said, I don't think adding someone like Butler to the lineup shifts the landscape like KD joining in 2016.

No one all-star level.

Basically just pretty good players. Maybe Steven Adams?

Due to aging and injuries I don't think the howls of protest will be as loud, so basically anybody now.

When KD joined the Warriors both KD and Steph were on the right side of 30, but today they're closing in fast on typical retirement age.

I think the salary situation precludes Giannis from joining even if he wanted to but if it was possible to pay a player like him Anthony Davis might be more likely.

Giannis is probably going to stay with the Bucks but what is keeping Davis on the Lakers if he doesn't win with LeBron this year?

There are even some hints that Davis would love to play for his hometown Chicago sometime during his career, which he actually said himself.

Well, i can only hope that it becomes true someday.
