The main issue with the Nets was they were always extremely weak at the C position. the matchup is rock paper scissors.

it's almost impossible to beat Shaq with Todd McCallough and Jason Collins as your starting centers.

it would be like Kobe getting to face a D3 college guard all series long.

its assuming they met in the finals.
You could still beat those Lakers with Shaq getting his, it just was very hard to do.

The Lakers shouldn’t have even won the 2002 ring. Kings would’ve won that chip anyway beyond suspect officiating ... so Richard Jefferson as opposed to a top 5 player and co alpha? I don’t know if they even make the conference finals.

Actually RJ wasn't the 3rd option in that series. Kettles was. Jefferson didn't come into his own until the next season. The East was weak at that time but Kidd was a beast at that time. Could Nash or CP3 have made back to back finals appearances in the east i guess we will never know.

My sympathies were done after watching replays recently were they blew 24 and 25 point leads in b2b games.

No way. In Game 7 vs Kings Kobe was making play after play and the Lakers still just barely got past them
