Funny how we talk about white privilege but how do you define it? White passing? The color of your skin? European?
Melanie Trump is Russian. She looks Mexican to me because of her skin tone. Then again Mexican isn’t a race either. But she doesn’t look as white as Ivanka.
Jessica Alba is very Spanish which is European. Some people think she is a privileged white girl. I always thought she was Mexican.
Kim Kardashian. She doesn’t look very white to me. She looks ethnic. Like an Angelina Jolie.
So what I’m getting at is what is white privilege? Is it being not only white but light skinned and blue eyes? Or does it mean just being white enough to not get shot by police due to race?
What about someone that is very albino? Is that even more privilege? Albino is white literally. Like I said you could say white means Caucasian but it gets confusing because many Caucasian’s look Mexican or ethnic. Kim Kardashian does not look like Taylor Swift. Al Pacino and Fredo don’t look like Leonardo DiCaprio Or Chris Cuomo because they have darker hair.
So is white privileged blonde and not tan? I’m having a hard time knowing how to place people in the privileged category. Catherine Zeta Jones and Monica Bellucci also both identify at white. Are they white but not white white? Like there’s white and then there’s white.
What about Brooke Burke? Many say she’s half asian but she says she’s just Portuguese and Jewish. So does she have white privilege?
The whole thing is confusing. What about someone like Dean Cain? He’s part Japanese. Does he have to apologize for his privilege or does his Japanese exempt him? The whole thing is confusing.
