A Marxist trying to unite people of complete different cultures and values against the evil capitalists :oldlol:
$28 millions difference in earnings for all people of color during the 70s. With a population of 40 million people of color in those years, that's 70 cents per person or $1.40 if we assume 50% are of working age.

Communist woman bad. She doesn't provide any details regarding the statistics she presented. Her claim could be as bogus as the one feminists have been repeating about the "78 cents women receive for every dollar a man makes for doing the same job."
If the amount she claims is indeed accurate, it is completely insignificant. For a second I thought she said billions, but i went back she keeps sayings millions.
Also by the ADA do you mean the Americans with Disability Act of 1990? Because this interview is from like 1969. If you stopped flying into a rage over her political beliefs you’d realize some of what she said is within the context of the time in which she said it. Her main point is still relevant though.

no shit the ada is relatively recent, i'm merely pointing at the fact that the speech itself makes a point that has been addressed by law. But how would I have known what the speech said since i didnt listen/watch it right?

I have no idea if that was true or not that working class people back then paid 70% of taxes but I imagine she's happy now that the top 10% in the US pay over 70% of the income taxes. Right?

If you want to pretend things were remotely fair for Black people in 1969, just  First, she presented no evidence that her claim is true. You don't either. But let's assume it's true.
Second, she claims that those millions would have paid for this and that when a couple of bucks in everybody's hands isn't going to do any of that.
Third, salaries are based on more than just "exact same work" whatever that means. Level of education, certifications, experience, seniority, overtime, salary negotiation can easily account for those couple bucks a year. I know it's hard to imagine for someone who's only worked for hourly wages.

Um...politicians on both sides use race to divide poor people of color and poor white people. Because if they ever realized that class is the real issue they’d join together and vote in someone like Bernie Sanders (or someone even farther left) and the American system of predatory capitalism would be screwed.

The point of BLM is to draw attention to the racism Black people face and inspire change. They are not saying “Only Black Lives Matter”, though. Davis is without a doubt to the left of BLM though and is more concerned with class in many cases I imagine. Her point was that racism is a tool that has been used to grease the wheels of predatory capitalism. Even the American system of slavery was highly capitalistic.

If BLM is a movement doesnt that mean the people are the organization? When saying all lives matter in an agreeing manner to include everyone becomes reason to ruin a person's life, then the people who make up this movement are dividing people.
Or are u just talking about the organization that won't tell anyone what they're doing with the millions in donations?

Okay fine, lets just pretend they really mean all lives matter... are we going to ignore the backlash television personalities received when they stated they believe 'all lives matter'?
Or lets explore the BLM movement by seeing what their site has:
Four years ago, what is now known as the Black Lives Matter Global Network began to organize. It started out as a chapter-based, member-led organization whose mission was to build local power and to intervene when violence was inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes. In the years since, we’ve committed to struggling together and to imagining and creating a world free of anti-Blackness, where every Black person has the social, economic, and political power to thrive.
The Black Lives Matter Global Network is as powerful as it is because of our membership, our partners, our supporters, our staff, and you. Our continued commitment to liberation for all Black people means we are continuing the work of our ancestors and fighting for our collective freedom because it is our duty.
Every day, we recommit to healing ourselves and each other, and to co-creating alongside comrades, allies, and family a culture where each person feels seen, heard, and supported.
We acknowledge, respect, and celebrate differences and commonalities.
We work vigorously for freedom and justice for Black people and, by extension, all people.
We intentionally build and nurture a beloved community that is bonded together through a beautiful struggle that is restorative, not depleting.
We are unapologetically Black in our positioning. In affirming that Black Lives Matter, we need not qualify our position. To love and desire freedom and justice for ourselves is a prerequisite for wanting the same for others.
We see ourselves as part of the global Black family, and we are aware of the different ways we are impacted or privileged as Black people who exist in different parts of the world.
We are guided by the fact that all Black lives matter, regardless of actual or perceived sexual identity, gender identity, gender expression, economic status, ability, disability, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, immigration status, or location.
We make space for transgender brothers and sisters to participate and lead.
We are self-reflexive and do the work required to dismantle cisgender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence.
We build a space that affirms Black women and is free from sexism, misogyny, and environments in which men are centered.
We practice empathy. We engage comrades with the intent to learn about and connect with their contexts.

You are ignoring my point. Angela made the fight about ALL races, BLM is making it about them only.
When one goes to create a "what we believe" page and fails to even mention ANY other race besides black... it's a red flag sorry. This movement is not about others besides blacks.

Who is denying the BLM movement is about Black people though? Are Black people not allowed to have a movement? There’s legitimate criticisms to be had about Shaun King, to be sure, but I’m not seeing what’s wrong with the actual movement? It’s certainly more intelligent to say what Davis did if you’re trying to unite the working classes, but I don’t think BLM main goal is for the working class to overthrow the ruling class, and that was Davis’ ultimate goal. BLM is not a Communist organization. Davis was literally a Communist until 1991.

Doesn't mean it's any less true.
As usual, the ISH conservative fam resorts to insults when they can’t refute the main point of a thread. “RRR3 lives with his parents” “RRR3 is a communist moron” “Davis is bad and dumb” (the same Angela Davis who went to Brandeis, is a famous political activist and scholar, and has accomplished more in her life/impacted the world far more than anyone on ISH is somehow “dumb”). I expect my favorite one, “RRR3 is a tranny” to follow soon enough.
It’s hilarious how the conservatives on here screech about the liberals demonizing anyone with different political views, but when faced with the words of Angela Davis, they immediately attack her for her political beliefs as if that invalidates what she is saying. Davis is apparently a bad person for being a Marxist (she left the Communist Party in 1991 btw), but you all fly into a rage when anyone insinuates being a republican makes you a bad person. The lack of self awareness is mind boggling. None of you are able to actually disagree with what Davis is saying, because you all have made the same arguments yourselves (that the elites use race to divide us). Instead you attack Davis for being a Communist, because you are much too tribal to admit what she’s saying is true, even if you don’t agree with her politics. #tissuesoft

This is the first time I've heard of her but maybe I should respect her. After all, she was awarded the Lenin Peace Prize by the Soviet Union.
Communist countries caused mass destruction and deaths and she supported it while it was going on. That's not very intelligent. Going to university, being a political activist and a "scholar" are not to be highly regarded.
If anyone was supporting the nazis, you'd go after them as well. This is no different. Just look at the death tolls caused by communism - it's unfortunate that communism isn't focused on as much as Hitler.
That statement is not wrong however she's calling for more state intervention and using the movement for her agenda. She's no different than the elites.

In 2016, 140.9 million taxpayers reported earning $10.2 trillion in adjusted gross income and paid $1.4 trillion in individual income taxes.
The share of reported income earned by the top 1 percent of taxpayers fell slightly to 19.7 percent in 2016. Their share of federal individual income taxes fell slightly, to 37.3 percent.
In 2016, the top 50 percent of all taxpayers paid 97 percent of all individual income taxes, while the bottom 50 percent paid the remaining 3 percent.
The top 1 percent paid a greater share of individual income taxes (37.3 percent) than the bottom 90 percent combined (30.5 percent).

none of those are an actual ranking for one so your point is still up in the air. the other problem is ofc the actual rate matters too. forgive me for using a hypothetical but seeing as how i seen them on all the times on these threads, I can get away with one. a "progressive" tax rate for example wont do shit about income inequality if say it's a 1% income tax rate on the bottom 80% and 10% on the top 1% which would be more "progressive" technically than what the US has now since the rich pay a higher ratio of taxes. The raw revenue matters significantly(even more than the ratio and you're glossing over that). Our tax rate is below the majority of first world countries

Please tell me how Thomas Sankara=Hitler.
forgive the people in this thread. all they read is ayn rand and murray rothbard. You can just see the ignorance when they throw out communism, socialism, and marxism like they mean the exact same thing. And sankara is a decent example but I dont think we've ever seen true communism or even socialism.

Pretty sure the class divide is a bigger issue in America, seeing as the 1% have everything and the rest of you are scrambling in debt. But yeah, racism is the problem :oldlol:
Transjew pretending to be black crying about unfair racism, what a time!

That was literally the point of this thread. You are retarded. I literally posted pics of my black mother and you all scurried away and pretend you never saw it, but sure.
#tissuesoft

Interesting. Very interesting.

Choose one.
The rich pay a massive share in the US and is a progressive system. That is a fact.

So you’ve just been exposed. Lecturing us on the benefits of Socialism and defending the Communist agenda while you sit unemployed in your parents basement, leeching off of them as we speak.
Go out and get a job. :oldlol:

How embarrassing to still live at home, and burn up through Mommy and Daddy’s savings. They must be proud of the Millennial douchebag they’ve created.
Is the 400 pound, friendless 40 year old really trying to talk shit? Really? I hate to break it to you but there’s a shockingly high number of people out of work right now. Because of covid.
I’m gonna look into learning how to code. Meanwhile Chewy collects disability for being 400 pounds and thinks he can talk shit about people not working because of a global pandemic? Bitch please. All that fat is going to your brain.

Don’t blame your lack of employment on COVID, Tranny boy. Odds are you’ve been getting an allowance from your parents for quite some time now.
Get a job you bum and maybe if you earned money like a normal human being, you wouldn’t spend your entire life on ISH and maybe you’ll have a better appreciation for Capitalism. I’m sure there’s a Starbucks near you that’s hiring :lol

Unemployed by choice. Still lives at home. Shares a bathroom with his parents. Only friends are his friends on ISH :lol

You guys are both taking a L here. No matter who’s life is better or worse you’re spending it on inside hoops right now doing the same thing. just think about that.
thanks for the laugh before bed, see y’all in the morning.
and when I said rrr lives at home with his parents it wasn’t meant to tease him but to point out that he’s yet to deal with the hardship of life without a financial support system - hence his political view
That’s a good point. I’ll let Mr. 400 pounds think he’s won this one. He probably needs at least one night spent not sobbing into a giant tub of triple chocolate fudge ice cream.

90% of the time, OP is less intelligent and informed than the people he attempts to lecture politically.
There's an enormous disconnect between what he wishes he was, and what he's actually capable of being.
It's sad for him, and unfortunate for any message board community he insists on annoying.

More than anything else, good for you. It aint easy getting established in this world. Lose the "look into". Speak like you're going to follow through, not just dip your toe in the water. You might think it's no big deal, but it is. Believe in yourself. Don't half step.
