Seattle's new sports arena will be called Climate Pledge Arena

This isn't NBA-related unless the Sonics come back someday, so I'll probably move this topic later, but anyway:

Amazon has secured the naming rights to the new home of Seattle's to-be-named NHL team and WNBA's Seattle Storm, and is calling it Climate Pledge Arena.

Per Amazon's blog, "the name refers to The Climate Pledge, launched in 2019 by Amazon and Global Optimism, which calls on signatories to be net zero carbon across their businesses by 2040—a decade ahead of the Paris Agreement."

While I in no way support the idea that teams get “stolen” from cities after someone pays hundreds of millions for them and sonic fans have annoyed me for that very reason....still....


Give the Sonics back and move the pelicans to the East.

It will also be a popular concert venue and future NBA venue. Just like Key Arena was.
