If the Bulls had lost the 1997 finals to the Jazz do you think Krause breaks up the Bulls in the 1997 offseason one year earlier instead of doing it in 1998?

Let's say the Jazz don't choke in game five, and in-game 6 Pippen's goaltend is called and the Jazz win the 1997 finals in 6 games. How would the 1997 offseason playout for the Bulls do you think Krause starts the rebuild one year earlier then he did in real life and if so does Jordan retire in the 1997 offseason.

Also, how do you think 1998 plays out if the Bulls break up one earlier ahead of time who do you have winning the title that year and who do you think comes out of the east with the bulls no longer standing in the way of other eastern teams.

Yes.

Why do you think so surely they give it one more crack knowing Jordan he would have done anything to stop the team from breaking up after he lost in the finals.

He wanted to break em up having won. Winning made it difficult to do so.

Would have been over had they lost.

Traded Pippen for Mcgrady

Or he could have retired earlier thinking the run was over.

As to the OP, probably. That would give them a rationale to break the team up--they had a great run but it was over. This would allow them to trade Pippen for high value, versus losing him as a free agent the next year to lay the foundation for the 2000's. The only scenario where these pressures wouldn't apply is if there were extenuating circumstances behind the loss.

Fortunately, Malone and Hornacek decided not to show up for the finals and the Bulls were brought back.

In that scenario, likely the Lakers or Knicks put on a full court press to get Jordan to come play for them in the 97-98 season and give Phil Jackson a blank cheque to be head coach if that's what it takes. Jordan wins a couple more titles there.

Pippen gets traded for McGrady or whatever who then leaves the Bulls anyway a few years later for Orlando.

That said the Jazz were never really a big threat to win that series aside from the Pizza Hut guys doing their best to try and tilt the odds in their favor.

If you get beaten by a guy food poisoned looking like he's on the verge of death ... you simply shake that man's hand and move on with your life. You have no business winning that.
