Lakers have signed Jr Smith for the rest of the season. As much as I bashed Avery Bradley last season as a horrific Clippers player, he's actually had a nice bounce back and solid season. He's come up huge on both ends in a few big games too. Jr Smith is a Jeff Green type where he has stupid athleticism and gifts but his mental+IQ is really low. He's either going to randomly win the Lakers a couple games in the playoffs, or hurt them badly... no in between. How do you guys think he will help?

Bradley seemed to hate the clippers guts and was the main reason the Lakers won a game vs clippers. Replacing that with a guy so high he doesn't even know the score during a finals game? I say they downgraded.

I definitely like this Lakers team less and will root against them.
Smith is a thug.
I also liked the Lakers for coming together so quickly with a collection of parts.
Now, will they bring cousins back?
Chemistry/team iq/likability are questionable.

All of his streaky shooting disappeared, in comparison to what he had left in 2015-2016
Unless there's some magical turnaround in his 20 months off I doubt he'll see playing time

Good signing, Smith will be his usual self if he sees playing time. His job is to jack 3s and not much else and he will be just fine. Think Nick Young on the Warriors.

JR Smith is a vet. 34 is old but for a shooter(albeit streaky) you don't lose how to hit shots. He's essentially making Dudley an absolute emergency guy. I expect you will see Caruso and KCP taking more minutes.
