That was from the reopening. It'll be interesting to see what the numbers will be like in July now that States are back to closing.

Damn Demons are now seething. The politicians probably got a hold of the numbers a week prior to today's release, hence the demand for more shutdowns.

And the survey was compiled in mid-June, before coronavirus cases began to spike in Arizona, Florida and several other states.

More timely data, also released by the Labor Department on Thursday morning, showed that 1.4 million Americans filed new claims for state unemployment benefits last week, and more than 800,000 filed for benefits under the federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program.

tl;dr: Jobs report is from mid-June data (aka outdated). Since that report, 1.4 mill applied for state unemployment and 0.8 applied for federal government unemployment assistance. In a nutshell, the report is incomplete

Unfortunately just a sugar rush. The numbers will come crashing back down when everyone starts closing up with the recent surge. Which is the reason everything cratered to begin with. Coronavirus is not Trump's fault. The complete shit response by the federal government is entirely his fault.

You mean from the state government like new york and them permitting riots all around the countryThe riots certainly don't help when it comes to unemployment but the reason your waitress neighbor is out of a job is that Applebees is no longer serving their crappy food at tables.
