Legendary Coach Rick Pitino implemented the full court press defense when he coached the Celtics in the 1997-98 season. They even beat the Chicago Bulls in the first game of the season. The 2008 Celtics run a variations of it. Any current nba team which use these strategy? By they way you need to have 3 good ball handlers in your team to be able to break it.

i would like to see it. make them earn every inch of the court chest to chest. But defense in the NBA has been severely nuetered to showcase offense that it wouldnt work in the long term.

Didn't Rick Pitino try this shit with the Celtics back in the 90s?

It's too much effort for players to play that all out consistently over 82 games, it seems. And it's easy for teams with excellent ball movement to pick apart a full court press.

I think it works in college because there are fewer good ball handlers on each team.

Wasn't that the one nick nurse implemented in the matchup between the raptors and the mavericks during December last year before Christmas? It truly was an epic comeback.

That's sweet.
True. But the most sweetest thing about that game is seeing how the mavs slowly become upset en route to choking a 30-point lead.
