Will always remember Horry in game five.
Classic arena. They shouldn't have transferred at all.

Had a ticket for that night in the nosebleeds, but then a friend got me a seat for Michigan at Ohio State football the next morning, so I ate the Malice ticket.
Was getting up at 2am for the drive and was watching the Malice game, then went to be a minute before it erupted, good thing, i wouldn't have had any sleep watching that.

I understand the Pistons wanting to move downtown. But man, it's almost criminal to tear that arena down. One of the best & most beautiful arenas in the country. And that was even before the $40 mil in renovations poured into it from 2012-2015.

Classic stadium that they even recently made big updates too don’t understand why the Pistons didn’t stay there. Many classic playoff and finals games were played there with the likes of Isiah, Magic, Jordan, Kobe, Shaq, Duncan participating.

Yes, or preserved some of the old.

And LeBron James 48 against the Pistons in 2007
Probably one of the unforgettable moments in the palace

They just renovated it. Here in the Philippines they value these old basketball stadiums instead of demolishing team.

Who cares? You can barely notice the difference on tv anyway.

Lol @ forcing Lebron into any possible conversation.
If you care to know the truth of the matter (probably not, why ruin a good trolling?), the Pistons were done after Big Shot Bob beat them in the '05 Finals. Larry Brown left, Ben Wallace was gone. By '07, they were a shell of their greatness and in decline.
Great 4th quarter by Bron, though. No doubt about that. A top 3 performance of his career.

You suggesting the 07 outcome would have been different if Brown was still Detroit's coach and Ben Wallace was still there?

Most likely. The team got soft under Saunders. He switched them to a soft zone. Became a completely different team defensively.

Detroit still had the 2nd best defense in the league that year. Brown's last year in 2005, their defense was only one and a half points better (89.5ppg) than w/o him (and Wallace) in 2007 (91.8ppg)
I see a lot of people mention Brown and Wallace not being there as part of the reasoning. I just don't see the significant difference those 2 would have made.

Regardless it's still a franchise that defeated the lakers twice in the finals

Also used to think of the same thing before but it's probably meh
