Why are people liking text messages?

Come on.. this is getting silly. It was already enough on social media with the likes and emojis? Now people are sending texts to me and every other message gets likes. This is too much. Someone might write FYI or lol and then there’s a like for those abbreviations.

Honestly I’m tired of all this fake stuff. In real life people don’t say LOL. Tired of all the virtual slang and dramatic emojis. Why can’t people just write like a human being anymore?

One of the reasons I respect youtubers is because at least they aren’t hiding behind a keyboard or a phone. They actually have to speak like a person and use their brain a bit. In the future I think trolls should be called out for hiding like cowards.

I know I just rambled and went off topic. But now people I know are annoying me. You don’t have to like a dam text message. It’s just reinforcing our fake culture. I realized that social media is kinda like going in The Matrix. We have a world and now we’re going inside another world.

I unfollowed everyone on my Facebook. So I haven’t been going on as much. We already have a life, so isn’t it hard to keep up with everyone’s fake life at the same time? It gets exhausting. But the last thing we need is for people to start liking everyone’s text. The toxic behavior can stay and die in the social media world. Don’t bring that stuff into general life.

For group texts maybe where it isn't certain which text you're approving of, then maybe. I have several clients, and a friend, who do this on 2 way convos. It's not really annoying but sometimes I feel like quipping that a "Hey champ, a thumbs up emoji is sufficient". Especially when they like in quote a long text of mine.
