Pythagoreans long ago believed that animals experience the same range of emotions as humans (Coates 1998), and current research provides compelling evidence that at least some animals likely feel a full range of emotions, including fear, joy, happiness, shame, embarrassment, resentment, jealousy, rage, anger, love ect. Thoughts? I think gorillas might be the closest to human emotion

Depends on the animal. And no they do not experience all of the emotions we experience.
There is a reason dogs are so happy all of the time, providing you don't abuse them. They lack certain genes. I can't remember what it is, but I'm assuming this can be applied to all species in various different ways.

I don't know, but my cat definitely feels fear, contentment, affection, happiness, shame, anger, and sadness.

the bigger smarter ones do... cats or dogs have a wider range than a snake or housefly.

My dogs give me more happiness than any human I've come across.
But yes, dogs display happiness, sadness, curiosity, and fear.

Does every human even have a “full range of emotion”?

Do animals acknowledge white fragility? If not, why are animals racist?

And jealousy too. We have a toy dog chihuahua and recently we got a pup dachshund not more than a year ago. The chihuahua gets jealous so easily each time he sees us petting or having fun with the dachshund. So he's also antagonistic towards the poor, younger fella.

Some humans aren't more evolved than animals.
