View Full Version : Have you ever seen a coach bad enough you don’t believe a title could be won?

We often do backseat coaching around here. Complain about rotations and decisions and all that. We all had a coach or two we hated.

Ive recently heard how awful guys like Avery Johnson, Del Harris, and others were. Sometimes despite them having more success than more beloved guys who they replaced but that’s another topic....

What coach do you have the least respect for ever? Who could keep the 2017 Warriors, 96 Bulls, 86 Celtics or whoever your goat team is from winning it all?

Does anyone’s negative impact run that deep?

I remember Clipper fans thinking Del Negro was losing on purpose at times. Byron Scott saw a lot of hate at times.

Who gets your pick for most negative impact among coaches ever?

Isiah Thomas very very easily with Kidd at 2nd place.

I remember Isiah asking Miller to tone down his celebrations after clutch plays to conserve energy when those celebrations might be the only thing giving him adrenaline/energy to keep playing at a high level.

Jim Boylen. Completely useless.

I saw the guy who coached the 07-10 Cavaliers

Bear in mind any coach can win by heroic acts or absurdly loaded teams, but under normal contender status circumstances, wouldn‘t back him.
