Only two of the top 20 highest scoring games happened in the last 15 years.
Why was it so easy to score before?
Ouch

Wrong
Wilt, MJ, Pete, Robinson, Barry, Baylor, Gervin, Fulls, West are all top 35. Only 4 are within the last 15 years.
Yup, scoring in today's era is a lot harder than before. That's why getting at least a hundred points in games are more common nowadays.

James Harden is averaging higher scoring numbers, on better efficiency, whilst playing less minutes than Jordan, and one could argue he's hardly top 3, perhaps 5. The talent, defences and teamwork in the NBA today are at an all time high, making it much, much harder for one guy to just start ball hogging their way to 30 plus points, unlike the 90's.

I looked it up later. Didn’t realize the 20th high scoring game was still like 64. I’m willing to amend it to just wilt now :lol. And harden had one year of higher scoring than Jordan and is considered the best scorer in the league. He’s only 3-5 for other reasons

it's a number linked with the average length of career for an NBA player, or it can be argued that being a professional athlete is no longer as lucrative as before.

body bagged.
Jordan would be averaging 50 in todays league...at least.
