View Full Version : Wonder what percentage of full-time jobs will become work-from-home and stay that way

So many office jobs could be done from home as long as employees can simply maintain a clean desk at home and have a strong home WIFI to do regular video conferencing. And probably a printer, maybe, though those are less important by the year.
Imagine the money tons of businesses, large and small, could save if they didn't have to pay for office space.
And every employee saving travel time each day. No more commute time. Instead of waking at 7am, getting dressed in office attire and commuting and being at work by 9am or whatever, now they could sleep until 8am and be working by 8:30am. Or whatever.

I'd rather not work from home. I did it for a couple of weeks in April, but my computer is crap compared to my work computer. It took me 2 hours to do something at home, that would take me 15 mins at work.
I know Manhattan is basically dead, I'm sure a big % of those jobs can be done at home but I don't know how businesses will survive past that. Let's hope the right businesses that actually needed the money got the forgiveable loans.

It's all about the commute, I think. Easy commute, nicer to go to an office. Miserable commute, no brainer, stay home if possible.
But yeah, working from home, it takes real focus to do serious work and keep the TV off for important stuff.

Does the OP work from home?
Or are the ISH servers way too massive to fit in a garage and instead require an entire floor of some office building downtown?

So why did avatar size limits get smaller if the forum supposedly upgraded? :confusedshrug:

Depends how many bosses, managers ect want to be controlling assholes. I'm guessing not much will change.
