View Full Version : Does the NBA represent enough ethnicity?

I think it's great that the NBA has a lot of black players. But there aren't very many Asian players. I can't remember the last Indian player, Mexican player, or Native American player. Let me know if you of any. Also, having more ''mixed'' players should be another point. Or Turkish, middle asian, middle eastern, etc..
I'm surprised that white owners or managers never complained about the lack of white representation. Did you ever think about that? It's amazing how I can't remember the last time a white owner complained about not having more white players. Even Donald Sterling never complained about that.
I'm not even saying that the NBA needs more white players, but like I said there are many other minority ethnic groups. Has there been any Japanese players? The only one I can think of is Rex Walters. He provided inspiration. I'm assuming Carlos Boozer and Kyle Kuzmic are Mexican, but I don't know of that many Mexican players.
Some people will think that this is a radical idea. But if the NBA did this as a movement and represented all minority groups, it would only encourage more predominate white groups to do the same for their activities.
We also need athletes from other planets/universe to play in the league
You draft players based on their ability not their race
It just so happens that the majority of the top American athletes are black
Asian Americans dominate in other fields such as doctors & lawyers

It really isn't funny, bro. I'm not sure why you made this account but knowing you're likely posting this kind of garbage with some anxiety laden smirk...your little moment... is quite sad. We are here for you if you need to get anything off your chest.

it's not like that for university and the corporate world... if you have good grades and youre black, you can go anywhere. if youre asian youre not making quota unless youre perfect.
Do they somehow think that asia has inferior races

The NBA is racist. Not enough Latinos, especially Cuban and Dominican basketball players.

Black Privilege right there :lol

NBA teams should have some guts and sign a current Team China player who happens to be an Uyghur Abudushalamu Abudurexiti. I would love to see China's response.

I see what the OP is doing. He's sarcastically using the logic of the BLM, Antifa guys. Nicely played.
But the big reveal from the OP is that Walk on Water is Asian. Like his friend. I did not know that. My image of him was this late 20s White person, fit for his social media pictures. A model type. Not quite like this guy, but a little.

I don't think Walk on Water is an alt, but for those who do, maybe he's Mr. Fonzworth, aka, MrMcDonald's. I mean it's totally possible. Does Walk on Water play chess?

This is far beyond the NBA. What about black universities? For example Howard... 90% black

Far from representation of the US. Affirmative action was designed to help blacks, but their schools dont care to follow suit. 0.9% asian and 0.7% hispanic/latino? Affirmative action again is systematic racism against non-black minorities.

Blacks sure do have it good. They dominate the Sports landscape. They have their own colleges. They have their own grants and scholarships.

Yet they have a 60% or so graduation rate. Just for reference, a public university such as my alumni is 90%.

Well that's clearly due to racism and White privilege.

About half of the top 100 wealthiest people on the planet are jewish... and yet there is not a single jewish player in the entire NBA?
The level of racism and antisemitism (the worst form of racism) in the NBA is beyond disgusting
And its not just jews... where are the Indian (asian) and Chinese players? Where are the hispanic players? Where are the white players? Where are the women players? Its hard to describe how offended I am right now.

Well it's not that simple. It's usually have's and have not's. We need more in the middle class. It can't just be either rich athletes and rappers or live in the hood.

That starts with education... either technical colleges or universities
Which costs money or requires scholarships and a desire to learn
Which comes from dual income households and a father figure
Which is why black females need to stop spreading their legs for deadbeats who end up leaving them for prison or whatever.
Blacks in my opinion have the notion they can only make it a few ways in life, and formal education has little to do with any of them. Either entertainment (Sports, youtube, comedy, music etc.) or crime (drugs, theft etc.). Where are the african americans wanting to be astronauts? The neil tyson degrasses? The shop owner?

9 out of 10 black people think education is racist.
It's oppression wanting people to learn.
Give them money and reparations, ya racist!
