Amazing this dude was called a PG. Just like Curry and Kyrie he's just an undersized SG.

What would be the modern day comparison for him? A bigger Damian Lillard?
He's in the Mcgrady/Walton/Penny/Hill tier of great players that only last 2-3 years.
1. Bill Walton
2. Mcgrady
3. Hill
3. Arenas
4. Penny

What makes Mcgrady in a higher class then Arenas? Mcgrady had that 1 great year in 03 and everybody overrates the shit out of him because of it. Look at Mcgrady's prime besides 03 and he's just all-star level instead of elite.

Mcgrady played defense and his prime lasted twice as long.

His prime only lasted from 01-05 tbh.

Cool highlights... Arenas is the ultimate one hit wonder player.
His 2006 playoff series vs Cleveland and Lebron is pretty unbelievable. 34/5/5 on 119 ORTG. That's like Jordan level. And in fact he played him to a draw. Donyell Marshall was the difference in that series. I remember that dude... OG stretch 3 big man.

One of my favorite players ever.
When he hit the game winner on the Jazz, it was super exciting.
Mcgrady played defense and his prime lasted twice as long.
But he always had his own woes in the playoffs

Tbh, I reject him.
He had game, but despite his supposed balls, LeBron played him for what he is, a poser.
He had game but his team got worse every year because of his shot jacking. That Westbrook type approach, with less motor and talent, playing the wrong position. I'll give Westbrook that he's gutsy, so I really respect him. But it's stupid basketball.

Also, Arenas and McGrady...I think McGrady was an individual who floated on absurd talent.
But there's no comparison, because that absurd talent and intelligence makes him much different than Arenas.

That whole line of thinking was never that similar to how the best points have played(most of them being scorers) and it’s gonna be even less true now.
When the offense is designed for the point to score....not scoring is breaking the offense. The exact opposite of his job. I suspect Arenas was asked to score....

He was still pretty decent up until 2007. After that was when it really started to go downhill by his standards.

He undoubtedly played stupid and selfish. I agree with general point, but his best season was his first season in Washington.
