I actually dont see the economy truly collapsing. Not any time soon. More of a consistent degrading but I dont think it falls to pieces any time soon.

Covid has convinced me there is a flaw in the assumptions of people who actually know and understand economics in theory. Theyre assuming the laws of economics will eventually catch up because people will behave as theyre expected to, in theory. In other words, work in their own interest.

Like youd expect people showing up to work minimum wage to strike over the fact some people (like me) are getting beefy checks to put their feet up, “bc covid.” But they dont. They keep showing up to work.

Youd expect farmers and produce suppliers etc to jack their prices up, in accordance with the Fed deflating all the money theyve earned, saved, worked for etc. But they dont.


We’re seeing that people no longer “act naturall” which is what economic theory is based on. People act obediently. And theyre not paying attention to spending and inflation and interest rates or any of that high falootin book learnin stuff. They just show up to work, no questions asked.

Covid has kind of highlighted that economic theory and reality dont necessarily match up anymore. Too few people have the option to go live off the land and sustain themselves. Theyre stuck slavin for the city. And they dont really care.

I mean 2008 was supposed to be the worst economic thing since the great depression. And what happened? Ehh, a few billionaires lost all their money, some people lost jobs then found new ones, and then it was over. There was no mass starving, mass crime. Shit was a hiccup.

That only leaves me one option, a 5th option, which you can probably figure out. I will put on a blindfold when I go with that option and not have any recollection of voting. I will just recall putting on a blindfold and noting some random mark with a pen on some thick paper. I will even sign first so I don't have to look at the ballot once I do the random check mark. I will then keep the blindfold on as I fold the ballot and tuck it into an envelope. Luckily, voting ballots don't require stamps so I won't have to do anything else except toss it in my mailbox and raise the flag thing. The mailman will bring it to the post office. I won't know who I voted for because I never saw it. I will certainly only know that I voted in 2020 general election.

Oh, I don't care... because I understood long ago that championships, outside of perhaps Bill Russell, aren't a particularly useful way to judge an individual player. It's only low IQ people who believe that shit. They're team accomplishments. You can be the best player in the league and miss the playoffs if your team is bad enough. So what does arguing about it mean, really? It's just throwing shit to the wall in the hopes that something sticks, except it never does, because the objective, reality based truth is quite simply unknowable for a plethora of factors.

The LeBron vs MJ debate, specifically, is fueled by the exact same forces in our lives that fuel the R vs D divide in the country. Formulas on computers AND opportunistic, ratings-driven-no-matter-the-cost media taking advantage of people's tribalistic tendencies and ignorance.
